Politicians Heat Up Hot Topics

The Macomb County Chamber held its latest Political Hot Topics event on Friday, March 11 at Avante Banquets in Clinton Township. Attendees enjoyed networking and breakfast while local and state politicians gave their live and uncensored opinions on topics important to residents and business owners. Those topics included Flint infrastructure and funding, Detroit Public Schools and PA 269 (election gag order). The event was moderated by Nancy Nall Derringer of Bridge Magazine.
Freddy's Holds Ribbon Cutting and Mixer
Freddy's Bar celebrated its recent expansion with a Ribbon Cutting and Chamber Member Mixer on Tuesday, March 15. Chamber members were treated to food and live music while networking. Freddy's is located at 40000 Garfield Road in Clinton Township.

Attend Advanced Integrated Marketing Symposium
The Direct Marketing Association of Detroit is holding its 20th annual Advanced Integrated Marketing Symposium (AIMS) on Wednesday, April 13 at the Motor City Casino Hotel Conference Center in Detroit. There will be speakers from Penske Corp., Google, General Motors, Pandora and the State of Michigan, as well as the luncheon speaker, J Walker Smith of The Futures Company. Conference Helps Businesses Go Global
Orbitek International is holding the 2016 Globalized Project Management Competence conference on April 13-14 at Lawrence Technological University. Church Holding Business-to-Consumer Expo
There will be a business-to-consumer expo at First United Methodist Church on April 16, 9 am-2 pm. Meet local business vendors and get informational materials and giveaways while learning about consumer services. There will also be door prizes. Admission is free, with lunch and snacks available to purchase. Proceeds from vendor participation, lunch and snacks will benefit the church's community meals program and other events. The church serves a community meal to those in need each Sunday, April-October. McLaren Macomb Earns Accreditation
The Joint Commission (TJC), an independent, non-for-profit organization that evaluates, accredits and certifies health care organizations and programs throughout the United States, has awarded a three-year accreditation to McLaren Macomb
in Mount Clemens. The accreditation was received after TJC made multiple site visits to the hospital, surveying and evaluating the staff and care professionals. Patient safety and the quality of care provided are the primary criteria measured.
