Chamber Hosts Coffee Connection

Costco Wholesale on Gratiot in Roseville was the venue for the Chamber's Coffee Connection networking event on Tues., Feb. 23. There was a large turnout of new, established and prospective Chamber members. Attendees enjoyed a great spread for breakfast while networking. Costco's Leslie Johnson spoke about the warehouse club and the benefits it offers to its members. Attendees were then able to shop before the doors were open to the public and receive a gift bag if they opened a membership.

The Now and Future of People-Based Marketing
The Direct Marketing Association of Detroit is hosting a mixer on March 3, 6 pm, at Motor City Casino (Amnesia). Special guest Jason Oates, Chief Business Officer of LiveIntent, will speak about people-based marketing, explain its nuances and talk about the tools and services necessary to navigate this growing marketing approach. This event is free for DMADetroit members, $10 advance purchase non-members and $20 at the door for non-members. Click here to register.
Assumption to Host Two Empty Bowls Events
Assumption Greek Orthodox Church is hosting two Empty Bowls events to raise awareness to fight hunger and care for those in need through Cass Community Social Services. The first event will be at Eastern Market (Shed 5) on Friday, March 4, 5:30-11 pm. Soups, bread, cheese, wine and beer are being offered from Detroit-area businesses. Entertainment will be provided. Donations of $30 in advance or $40 at the door will benefit CCSS. The second event will be at Assumption Center in St. Clair Shores on Sunday, March 6, 4-6 pm. Area restaurants will provide soup and handmade bowls from Sugar Hill Clay for each guest. Gospel music will be provided by The Ambassadors, a group of previously homeless men from Cass. Hard Rock Stone Works Wins Award
Hard Rock Stone Works of Sterling Heights has been awarded the 2015 Cosentino Home Center Award. This award honors the best of the best in the Home Center Channel for Cosentino North America. Hard Rock was chosen from a field of more than 200 fabricators, based on their dedication, growth of Lowe's account and commitment to customer service.
McLaren Macomb Names New CFO
McLaren Macomb hired Brian Balutanski, MBA, CPA, as the 288-bed hospital's new chief financial officer. He will be responsible for all of the hospital's financial functions. He was most recently CFO of Chestnut Hill Health System in Philadelphia.
