McLaren Macomb Announces New Appointments
McLaren Macomb Healthcare Foundation named Louise Rallis-Wibbelman as director.  She's held the position on an interim basis since the spring of 2015.  Rallis-Wibbleman has been with the Foundation since 2012.  She will be responsible for all development.

James Larkin, D.O., was named Chief of Staff at McLaren Macomb hospital for the term lasting 2016-2017.  An emergency medicine physician, he previously served as vice chief of staff.  Dr. Larkin has been with the hospital his entire professional career, joining in 1983.

Events at the Macomb Center
On Jan. 14, Macomb Center for the Performing Arts will have Public Television's Lidia Bastianich hosting an evening of conversation and storytelling celebrating her love of Italian food.  Lidia is an author and the Emmy-winning host of Lidia's Kitchen and Lidia's Italy.  On Jan. 15, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra presents William Davidson DSO Neighborhood Concert Series.  Click here for tickets and information.


Free Gardening Presentations and Workshops

Dr. King Celebration
Interfaith Center for Racial Justice is holding "Silent No More" on Monday, Jan. 18 at 6:30 pm to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  It will be at Dakota High School, 21051 21 Mile Rd in Macomb.  Featured speakers are Rev. Tyrone B. Opiate Abuse Conference
Operation Rx, the community collaborative working to address the opiate and heroin epidemic in Macomb County, is holding Opiate Abuse:  Community in Crisis - Macomb County's Response on Jan. 26.  Check-in begins at 12:30, conference begins at 1 pm.  The event is free and offers three contact hours.  It will be at Macomb Intermediate School District, 44001 Garfield in Clinton Twp.
