Senator Peters Visits the Chamber
The Chamber's Public Policy Committee was visited by U.S. Senator Gary Peters (back row, center) and L'Anse Creuse Public Schools Superintendent Jackie Johnston (front row, left). Senator Peters talked about a myriad of issues affecting our region. One important thing he noted is how vital he believes it is to stay connected and involved with the Macomb County Chamber.
Riverside Dental Celebrates Ribbon Cutting
On September 19, Mayor Barb Dempsey and Chamber Ambassadors Pat Marshall and Bob Young attended the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Riverside Dental at 253 S. Gratiot in Mount Clemens.
Ribbon Cutting is Held at Expanded Art Van
There was a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at Art Van on October 7. Art Van expanded its warehouse by 13,000 sq ft. Art Van is located at 6340 14 Mile in Warren.

The Apple Store at The Mall at Partridge Creek hosted the most recent networking opportunity for our Macomb Chamber members. Thank you to Tim and his wonderful Apple staff for hosting this event.

Macomb College to Match Funds to Help Veterans
Macomb Community College
launched a special contribution opportunity to expand resources and services for veterans and their families. Through the Robinson Coleman Fund at the college's Foundation, $15,000 has been allotted to match gifts (made by Dec. 31, 2015)
to the college's Veteran and Military Services on a 1:1 basis. MCC was granted the highest-level ranking in the new Veteran-Friendly school program established by the Michigan Veteran Affairs Agency. Nearly 900 active-duty military, veterans and their family members attend Macomb. To participate in the matching fund campaign, go to www.macomb.edu/give

Candice Miller Enters Women's Hall of Fame
U.S. Representative Candice Miller was inducted into Michigan Women's Hall of Fame by the Michigan Women's Studies Association. Miller represents Michigan's 10th Congressional District, which includes Macomb and St. Clair counties. The Michigan Women's Historical Center is home to the Hall of Fame.
YP Marketing Donates to Big Family of MI
During the holidays, Big Family of Michigan
fills gift requests of more than 1,800 of the state's foster and in-need children. YP Marketing Solutions, Detroit Division, is supporting this program by awarding $5,000 to purchase gifts for the children. YP volunteers will gather on Nov. 24 to wrap gifts at International Automotive Components in Troy. To volunteer, make a donation or host a toy drive, email firstname.lastname@example.org

Mount Clemens DDA Christmas Open House
Mount Clemens Downtown Development Authority is holding a Christmas Open House and Tree Lighting Ceremony on Nov. 20. The First Presbyterian Arts Academy Show Choir will perform at The Fountain Stage at 5 pm and Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive by horse-drawn sleigh at 6 pm. Victorian carolers, photos with Santa and refreshments are part of the fun. Click here
