Macomb Foundation to Induct Roy Rose into Hall of Fame
Roy Rose is chief executive officer and president of Anderson, Eckstein and Westrick,Inc., an engineering, architecture and surveying firm in Shelby Twp. Roy has shown continued dedication to strengthening Southeast Michigan's economy, infrastructure, and image and having an understanding of the need for mobility. He represents Macomb County as a board member of the Regional Transit Authority (RTA) and serves as chairman of the RTA's Planning and Service Coordination Committee.

The event kicks off with a continental breakfast, followed by presentations on identity theft/cyber security, business security/event planning, employee safety, and prescription and illegal drug dependency. Enjoy the complimentary lunch while listening to case studies on two local businesses that dealt with a flood and an armed robbery. Afterward, the Macomb County Emergency Response Team will provide demonstrations on the SWAT robot, HAZMAT team, the Sheriff's K-9 unit, among many things. Door prizes are also part of the fun.

Greekfest 2015 On August 20, Assumption Greek Orthodox Church kicked off Greekfest 2015 with a ribbon cutting.
Macomb County Receives International Award Macomb County Communications & Technology Center (COMTEC) received an international award for innovative technology from the Institute of Transportation Engineers. The award was for the use of technology to combine Macomb County's Department of Roads, Macomb County Sheriff Office's Dispatch, Macomb County's Office of Emergency Management and Macomb County's Information Technology staff under one room.
The Macomb Symphony Orchestra to Hold a Fundraiser Wednesday, September 30 6-9 pm Stahl's Auto Museum & Collection 56516 North Bay Drive, Chesterfield Twp. Join The Macomb Symphony Orchestra for a night of wine tasting, hors d'oeuvres, performing artists from the orchestra, unique instruments and a collection of rare and classic automobiles. Tickets are $50 per person with 100% of the proceeds going to support the orchestra. Each ticket purchased will include a voucher for a free ticket to one of the orchestra's 2015-16 season concerts. Tickets can be purchased by calling the symphony office at 586-286-2045 or 586-286-2089.

Detroit Zoo Attendance Tops
1,000,000 for 10th Year in a Row
The Detroit Zoo surpassed one million visitors on August 25. A zoo spokesperson credits the Dinosauria animatronic attraction and the new Cotton Family Wolf Wilderness naturalistic habitat with drawing many of those visitors.
"We appreciate the million-plus visitors who have supported the Detroit Zoo this year and we're excited to unveil our world-class Polk Penguin Conservation Center next year," said Detroit Zoological Society Executive Director and CEO Ron Kagan.
