State Representative from Warren Visits Chamber Office
State Representative (Warren) Derek Miller attended the Chamber's Public Policy Committee meeting on Aug. 17 to discuss important issues that directly impact Macomb County businesses, such as roads, catastrophic insurance and an energy bill. We are so pleased he took the time to keep us informed.

Politicos at Networking Event
The invitation-only Macomb Chamber Networking group that met at
New Fitness Studio Celebrates its Grand Opening with a Ribbon Cutting
Mt Clemens Mayor Barb Dempsey attended the ribbon cutting at Jazzercise Mt. Clemens Studio on Aug. 15. Classes, refreshments and a raffle were also part of the festivities.
MEMBERS IN THE NEWS
Macomb County Chamber Board Member Matthew Casey, a partner at Warner Norcross & Judd, was named to the Wayne State University Business School board of visitors. Casey has a bachelor's degree and a law degree from Wayne State. He has been named a Top Lawyer in Banking Law by DBusiness and recognized as a Michigan Super Lawyer. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the Macomb County Bar Association. He is on the St. John Providence Health System Foundation board. He also is a community director on the board of the Macomb Community College Foundation.
Drema Isaac, Central Macomb Community Credit Union's president and CEO, received the Michigan Credit Union League & Affiliates distinguished service award. Isaac has been active in credit unions for about 20 years. In 2002, she became the president and CEO. During her tenure, the credit union's assets have grown from less than $50 million to more than $170 million. She also has been chair of the Metro East Chapter of Credit Unions, an organization of 35 credit unions, for several years.
Meagan Peasley, senior member service representative, received the 2015 young professional of the year award. She began her tenure with Central Macomb in 2013. She volunteers with Macomb County Rotating Emergency Shelter Team and is a member of Woodside Runners, raising money for orphanages in Thailand.
