Why Accident Fund?

Macomb County Chamber members can take advantage of many money saving affinity programs. The Accident Fund discount program is one of the most popular programs. It includes a five percent premium discount and the possibility of a premium rebate. Since 2004, Accident Fund has paid out $363,117 in dividends to participating members, which represents an average dividend of 5% of annual insurance premiums.  This is in addition to the 5% savings.

Warren Mayor James Fouts will deliver his State of the City address on Wednesday, March 26, at Andiamo Italia in Warren.

Doors open at 11 a.m. and lunch is served at 11:30 a.m. Tickets, which include lunch, are $25 for Chamber members or $35 for non-members. Register now.

The event is part of the Macomb County Chamber's State of the Community series.

Among its varied business-building activities, Entrepreneur-YOU conducts all-day workshops-- taught by leading business professionals-- to teach women entrepreneurs about the resources necessary and available to open, run and grow a business. Baker College has been named in the top 25 Best for Vets: Business Schools by Military Times, a media organization that provides news to service members and their families. The Best for Vets national designation includes the MBA and doctorate of business administration programs offered by Baker College Center for Graduate Studies and Baker Online.


Health Alliance Plan (HAP) ranked highest in member satisfaction for the seventh consecutive year, according to the J.D. Power 2014 U.S. Member Health Plan Study. The study reflects the results of a member survey conducted from December 2013 to January 2014. HAP received a score of 711---higher than any other health plan in Michigan.


Comcast Business and Inc. Magazine has launched "Innovations 4 Entrepreneurs," a national competition that will award more than $600,000 in cash and services to aspiring entrepreneurs who are leveraging technology to enhance customer and employee experiences. Individual winners will have the opportunity to win $25,000 in cash, Comcast Business Internet and TV services for two years, a $2,500 allocation for additional Comcast Business services and complimentary use of premium cloud applications from Comcast's Upware partners Cisco, Microsoft, Symantec, DocuSign, Soonr and Swiftpage Engage for one year. Entrepreneurs are encouraged to visit to submit their application and essay and review the full program details. Entries are due by April 30, 2014.  


Macomb Community College has launched a new website ( as well as a new portal for current students. The new site improves usability of the college's online resources, enhances navigation and streamlines access to information.


The new student portal, My Macomb (, offers current students one-stop access to the college's online resources, serving as their gateway to online coursework and academic records.  Students from Macomb's honor society, Phi Theta Kappa, provided input by participating in usability studies as the portal was designed.
