This has been an 'interesting' year so far. If you are like me, when I read or hear the word 'interesting' I'm always curious about what follows that word.

For me, it has been an 'interesting' year with the loss of several friends who have transitioned to their next life, and friends who are no longer a part of my life for a variety of other reasons.

Sometimes the variety of other reasons is for total misunderstandings, and other times for, in their mind or mine, very valid reasons. Either way, there is a void and a loss in both our lives.

What I have learned is that grieving the loss of anything is always an emotional
challenge, and grieving the loss of a friend or loved one is one of the worst kinds of grieving.

While I miss those who have left my life (or I have left theirs), I also know that our lives go on. The pain is sometimes unbearable, and the comfort is in remembering the good times rather than focusing on the not so good times. I don't know about you, but I have to remind myself often (sometimes several times a day) to focus on the good, even when the bad is so painful that my body physically hurts.

So to those who are no longer a part of my life, either through death or by choice, I want you to know I send you love. We are taught that love is all there is ... and sometimes I have a hard time recognizing that in others, but mostly in myself.

How do you grieve the loss of friendships? Is it something that you step away from and never look back? Or, do you spend time reflecting for awhile?

Remember, love is the most powerful energy and through it comes forgiveness and peace. I am reminded that lavender is good for healing, so if your heart needs healing may this lavender heart bring you love, peace, healing, understanding and compassion.
