Amit "Nous" Upadhyay was born in New Delhi, India to a respectable academic family. His early education was from a Christian missionary school and he graduated and subsequently received his post graduate degree from the University Of Delhi. He is a trained academic with a Masters degree in Education.

He is also an award-winning author, and his second book has recently been published in the USA. He is currently a practicing pedagogue, with a special interest in psycho-motor as well as holistic eco-spiritual development.

At four years old, Nous Amit had an accident in his left eye which transformed his life forever. His lonely childhood was filled with apathy and a desolate societal attitude. However, this proved to be a blessing in disguise. His disillusionment from the material world led him to a quest for real happiness in the form of truth.

For more than twenty years, along with fulfilling his societal onuses, he engaged himself to a quest and traveled widely in India, Nepal, the Tibet border, Thailand and so on. In his journey he trekked towering Himalayas and learned and meditated with Hindu yogis and Buddhist monks.
