Three individuals, Thomas Carr, Joan Williams, and Bill Wilson join incumbent David St. George as this year's slate of four board candidates. Remember that directors are limited to two, three-year concurrent terms. Each year, SAFE members elect three directors to the board. The voting process is completed online through a secure polling provider.

Over the last few months SAFE's Governance Committee has solicited and vetted potential board candidates. Their work is done, and now only two steps, the steps that involve every SAFE member, remain. The opportunity to add your voice to the selection of our next class of SAFE directors is here.

Step 1 - Get to know the candidates

Visit the SAFE website, Director Elections page and read the synopsis on each candidate. Following the links included in each paragraph you'll find the candidates resume and their responses to questions they were asked during the vetting process.

Step 2 - Vote

Every SAFE member (current as of June 1) will receive an email from our polling provider, VotingPlace.net, detailing the online election process, in the next few days. The polls will open on Monday, June 15 at 0800 EDT. You will need to log-in using the email address associated with your SAFE account and your membership number. The polls will remain open until Wednesday, June 24 at 2100 EDT.

Your membership number can be found by going to the SAFE website and logging in. Click the Login link in the yellow square located in the upper right corner of the page. After logging in, click on the Manage Your Account link in the same yellow square. Scroll down to the middle of the page where you will find a Membership Info header. The first line below the header, titled ID, is your SAFE membership number. The entire number, including the preceding capital S and all zeros, will be needed to log into the polling site.
