THE COLLECT
O
God, you have taught us to keep all your commandments by loving you and our neighbor: Grant us the grace of your Holy Spirit, that we may be devoted to you with our whole heart, and united to one another with pure affection; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Operation Backpack

Deadline: Monday, July 28

Operation Backpack is taking donations!  Look for the Palm Tree in the Chapter House for school supplies or monetary donations.  If you will be traveling on Sundays and not able to choose a child in person, simply call Marla in the Cathedral office and ask her to choose her to sign you up for a donation.  Thanks to Tre Mitchell, Julianna Ramo, Charlie Ramo, Elinor Gibson, Alison Mitchell and Alison Mitchell for setting up the tree.

This is our fourth year to sponsor Operation Backpack, an outreach
program for the Christ Church Cathedral family in cooperation with the
Family Intervention Team (FIT). The program was conceived when the
FIT case workers realized that children were beginning school without
supplies or uniforms.

The goal of the project is to have 20 backpacks filled with loose leaf
notebook paper, pencils and pens-one for each child-and enough money
for vouchers to be used by case workers to purchase necessary uniform
items and school needs for each child. The project deadline is Monday,
July 28. The junior youth will meet Tuesday, July 29 to gather the donations for distribution.

CHRIST CHURCH CATHEDRAL MISSION

The Cathedral is the spiritual center of the Diocese of the Central Gulf Coast.  The Cathedral is a dynamic and evolving church that serves as a liturgical, educational, and pastoral center for Diocesan life. It serves as a visible symbol of unity and promotes growth, hope, and a deepening trust in the Lord. The Cathedral is a place where the Gospel of Jesus Christ will be faithfully preached and responded to, and it will model new concepts and ideas for education, evangelism, and outreach to which the Gospel calls us.
