THE COLLECT

Almighty God, you have built your Church upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone: Grant us so to be joined together in unity of spirit by their teaching, that we may be made a holy temple acceptable to you; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.  Amen

CATHEDRAL NOTES

Cathedral Office Closed

The Cathedral office will be closed Friday, July 4 through Friday, July 11.  We will be checking messages and emails during that time. In case of emergency, please contact The Rev. Dan Wagner at 864-430-2221.

The Cathedral office will reopen on Monday, July 14, with our regular
office hours: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Operation Backpack

Deadline: Monday, July 28

The Operation Backpack tree is up in the Chapter House and waiting for
you to register for a donation. Our junior youth, rising grades 3 through 7, are serving once again as the leadership team for the project. They will be manning the tree during coffee hour today through Sunday, July 27. They are also available to accept donations.

This is our fourth year to sponsor Operation Backpack, an outreach
program for the Christ Church Cathedral family in cooperation with the
Family Intervention Team (FIT). The program was conceived when the
FIT case workers realized that children were beginning school without
supplies or uniforms.

The goal of the project is to have 20 backpacks filled with loose leaf
notebook paper, pencils and pens-one for each child-and enough money
for vouchers to be used by case workers to purchase necessary uniform
items and school needs for each child. The project deadline is Monday,
July 28. The junior youth will meet Tuesday, July 29 to gather the donations for distribution.

CHRIST CHURCH CATHEDRAL MISSION

The Cathedral is the spiritual center of the Diocese of the Central Gulf Coast.  The Cathedral is a dynamic and evolving church that serves as a liturgical, educational, and pastoral center for Diocesan life. It serves as a visible symbol of unity and promotes growth, hope, and a deepening trust in the Lord. The Cathedral is a place where the Gospel of Jesus Christ will be faithfully preached and responded to, and it will model new concepts and ideas for education, evangelism, and outreach to which the Gospel calls us.
