THE COLLECT

O God, whose blessed Son came into the world that he might destroy the works of the devil and make us children of God and heirs of eternal life: Grant that, having this hope, we may purify ourselves as he is pure; that, when he comes again with power and great glory, we may be made like him in his eternal and glorious kingdom; where he lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Many thanks to everyone who had a part in our delightful celebration last Sunday. Our ECW co-chairs planned the event. All the members of our  hospitality teams provided an array of treats. Ann Luce and Betsy McCafferty arranged all of the colorful fall flowers. Leslie Ladd, Kay Whiting, Mary Esther  Elliott, Corinna Luce, Susan Garth, Liz Ferguson and Chris Douglas helped on  Sunday morning to get the treats arranged. Jay Watkins grilled the pork tenderloins.   Our Stewardship leadership team underwrote the entire event, including the  three gallons of oysters. They are happy to report that over 80% of our pledges  have been received. Thank you to all who have pledged and to those who have  not, please return your cards as soon as possible.
