Greetings!

September is just buzzing by.  I still don't believe that August is gone!

Last week I was included in the filming of the PBS Series Getting Away Together.  They were here in town for an episode about Cannon Beach.  And I was able to give the cast a yoga class at Ecola State Park.  Special thanks to Cannon Beach Vacation Rentals, Cannon Beach Chamber of Commerce, Cannon Beach Tourism & Arts Commission, Escape Lodging, The Wine Shack and Michael Clark (and others that I may not know about) for funding this opportunity to promote Cannon Beach!

We have a wonderful Guest Instructor coming this month!  Kimi Marin will be here from Portland on Saturday, 9/28 from 5:30-7:30pm for Yogic Lore. In this flow class, Kimi will tell the stories behind the poses ($35).  We'll light the fire and add some candlelight for a warm storytelling ambiance.

And Kelly Ponzi will be back in October for iRest® Yoga Nidra:  Saturday, 10/12 from 5:30-7:00pm ($30).

Restorative Yoga is 9/20 from 6:30-8:30pm, $25.  We need 3 registrations to hold the class.  Reserve your spot today!

It takes a Village to keep a Yoga Studio Open!  Become a Prana Member!  See the details below!

I look forward to seeing you on the mat, soon.

Namaste,

Kimi Marin

Join Portland yoga teacher, Kimi Marin for the stories behind the poses. From sunsalutations to savasana, discover the mystic deities, sagas and animals that inspired the asanas.

Mythology is a narrative that explains how the world, and all its inhabitants, came to exist and are often used to teach and establish behavioral models.  Similarly in yoga, the poses we embody are part of a richly diverse spiritual tradition. Many of the philosophies, rituals, and poses of yoga are adapted from various texts and myths.

In this transformative 2-hour hatha flow class, you will explore mudras (hand gestures), pranayama (breath control), and meditation, all the while you move and flow to the stories that inspired the poses. Delve deep within as you tap into your inner warrior, rise out of dark shadows into lotus, and shed stifling layers in cobra pose.

$35, Register Online or Call 503-440-1649.

Kimi discovered yoga over a decade ago looking for an activity to complement running. Over time, yoga became a way of life. Kimi teaches yoga to help others find clarity in their mind, body and spirit. She guides students through their practice by riding the waves of breath, continually aligning breath and body into a rhythmic flow of consciousness.

Kimi has a master's degree in literature, and loves to combine the power of stories with yoga. She often weaves the myths and stories about various poses into the class. Her transformative Yogic Lore workshops are a fun combination of stories, asana, meditation, and mantra.

Kimi was featured in Origin Magazine's Inspire Series, was the featured ambassador for Ahnu Footwear June 2013, and her writing has been published on several blog sites. When Kimi is not teaching or writing she can be found playing in nature with her dog and husband.
