The graceful, creative and energetic Uma Kleppinger will return to the Cannon Beach Yoga Festival with three exceptional offerings. She'll kick off the festival with Sacred Fire: A Vinyasa Flow Practice and Intention Setting Ceremony that she created with Dr. Kendall Hassemer. On Sunday, Uma will offer two workshops. The morning session is called Taoist Vinyasa. And the afternoon session is called Yin Yoga: Lighting the Shadows.
| | Cannon Beach Yoga Festival Invitation from Uma Kleppinger |
Uma Kleppinger has been fascinated by meditation ever since she tip-toed wide-eyed and curious into a Buddhist temple as a child. Since then she's learned that meditation needn't involve chanting, incense and gongs - it can be anything, anywhere, any time. Her yoga practice has evolved out of in-depth training in Iyengar, Ashtanga and Yin yoga forms. Uma's teaching style is humorous, engaging, serious and playful; her approach to yoga emphasizes mindfulness in movement.
For over 15 years Uma has engaged in sharing the benefits of meditation and yoga. As a lifelong athlete, she understands the benefits of yoga to "tune up" the body for other physical activities. She resides in Portland, Oregon where she teaches and works as a writer with a focus on health, wellness and sports-specific yoga. She is the author and developer of BikeYoga, for more information visit: www.umakleppinger.com.
