 The Spotlight is on YOU

Advocates' Best Kept Secret

Each month we will feature one of you - the dedicated supporters, donors, employees, friends, partners, family members, and individuals served who work every day to make a positive impact in the lives of others.

This Month: Krokidas & Bluestein

Maria Krokidas, a founder of Krokidas & Bluestein, helped us kick off last year's Best Kept Secret Photo Scavenger Hunt at Advocates annual picnic.

As a longtime major donor and two-time sponsor of Advocates Best Kept Secret Photo Scavenger Hunt, Krokidas & Bluestein has provided critical financial support, improving opportunities and resources for the individuals we serve.

As legal counsel for over 30 years, they have played a crucial role in Advocates' growth. They were a key player in helping Advocates purchase a long-anticipated home for individuals recovering from mental illness. Advocates renovated and converted the former Framingham nursing home into housing for eights residents. Krokidas & Bluestein's help has given residents the opportunity to live independently in their community with the appropriate support they need.

Advocates Opens New Brain Injury Residential Program
Last August, Advocates opened the doors of its newest brain injury residential program - a home in the community for four brain injury survivors who previously had been living in nursing homes and institutions. In their new home, residents have the chance to pursue new goals and rebuild their lives in the community. The Framingham home was completely gutted and renovated to accommodate the residents' physical needs. Its location provides maximum opportunities to participate in community life and maintain health and wellness.
