Huge Group Celebrates FRC's 25th
A large turnout packed the reception room and into the hallways at the Hawthorn Suites on Thursday night to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Exchange Club Family Resource Center.  Founders, workers, supporters, and friends took the opportunity to congratulate each other on the longevity and success of Georgia's only Exchange Club Accredited Child Abuse Prevention Center.

FRC Past and Present

Past and present Officers and Board Members gathered for an historical photograph

Jim Talley

Current FRC President Jim Talley thanked all in attendance for their
time that they had devoted to founding this wonderful center in the past and the many hours currently being volunteered, their talents serving in so many capacities and helping back up the staff and working various projects, and their treasurers in the way of financial support for helping make a dream into such an important resource in our community.

VOTE Rome Exchangites
Get Out The Vote
If you are not a member of the record Floyd County voters who have early voted, you must go to the polls next Tuesday and VOTE.  Thousands of fellow Americans have given their lives over the generations for your right to cast your ballot.  It is not just a privileged...but your responsibility as an American citizen to cast your vote.

If you have not voted, and to make it easier for you when you go to cast your ballot, the Exchange Club of Rome is providing you with the following link to the Floyd County Board of Elections to see a sample ballot.  Once at the page, just select your precinct and print it off.

Our Last Meeting...ARF ARF!

Our last meeting was both educational entertaining as Floyd County Deputy Sheriff Jimmy Allred and his partner Duke demonstrated how the pair work in apprehending drug criminals.  Deputy Allred hid a stass of marijuana under the flag pole during lunch and then brought Duke into the Palladium to demonstrate why he is a nationally certified drug dog.  It didn't take Duke's nose long (top right) to sniff out the contraband and bark his alert to the Deputy.  If you missed the meeting and want to see Duke in operation and learn why both criminals and defense lawyers don't want to see them walking into a courtroom, just click on the video link below.

Buy Your Toys For Tots Raffle Tickets

If you have fellow workers, friends / enemies, or neighbors who might want a chance to win a Large Green Egg, valued at $1,000, or a child's Tractor Rocker, Mickey Gosnell will have books of 5 tickets for each of them available for issue this Friday. All stubs, money (or checks), and unsold tickets must be turned in by Monday, November 28th.

All proceeds will benefit Toys for Tots!  Remember, it's all about making this Christmas the BEST EVER for the kids who need it most.

The drawing will be December 1st. The ticket holder need NOT be present to win.  Instructions will be packaged with the tickets.

Replica On The Way To Manchester

The one-half sized replica of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier created by the Exchange Club of Rome is on the road again.  This time members of the Americanism Committee are taking this impressive display to Manchester, GA to be a part of their Salute To Veterans activities Thursday thru Saturday of this week.  Accompanying the display are Americanism Chair Bill King and committee members John Fortune andJim Belzer.

This is the second time the replica has become a traveling exhibit with the first being to Niceville, FL and other exhibitions are on the calendar.

The Holidays and Santa for Seniors will be here soon. Often there are Seniors in our Community who do not have family and we will be asking you to adopt a Senior for the Holidays. You will be given a name, their location, and a list of things they would like to have. The Sheriff's Department will be delivering the gifts Christmas week.

Fellowship

Please remember the following in your thoughts and prayers:

Exchangite Stacy Walker has undergone a full hip replacement.  She is in the recovery process now so please keep her in your thoughts and prayers for a speedy and complete recovery.

Exchangite Richard Dixon's wife Mary Louise underwent surgery to remove a mass on Monday and is "doing pretty well" according to Richard.  The doctor says she may be able to go home from Floyd Medical on Thursday.  Richard also said the  surgery itself went rather quickly and very smoothly.  Mary Louise will still probably have to go through another round of chemo when all the lab reports are back, but they are very encouraged.  Please keep Mary Louise and the Dixon family in your thoughts and prayer.

Exchangite Ronnie Farmer undergoing rehab after knee surgery.

Meal Policy Of The Exchange Club Of Rome
Members are encouraged to bring prospective member guests to all regular meetings.  The club is most happy to pay for the meals of prospects the first three times they visit, more then that you are required to pay for your guest's meal unless they have submitted an application for membership, in which case the meals will remain at no charge  If you bring a non-prospect guest, someone to just join you for lunch, or if you take out a lunch for anyone that is not a member, you are required to pay for your guest's or takeout meal.  The cost of the meal is $10 per meal and must be paid to the Treasurer or other officer at the time of the meeting.  Money can also be placed in the Dues Box in the lobby.
