Seth Ingram

Seth Ingram has spent over a decade as an independent producer, screenwriter, and director for film and for television. One of the founding members of Moonshine Pictures, an Atlanta based production company, Seth currently serves as the Head of Development, working as a script and story consultant for both network and independent productions. He currently serves as the Executive Director of RIFF, the Rome International Film Festival.
Seth and his wife April and their three children reside in Rome, Georgia.
Founded in 2003, the Rome International Film Festival (RIFF) is northwest Georgia's signature film festival event. Named as one of MovieMaker Magazine's "top 20 festivals worth the submission fee," RIFF is proud to have shared independent films from dozens of countries across the globe with thousands of film fans and filmmakers from near and far over the last 11 years. Rome's historic DeSoto Theatre serves as the central venue for the festival. Built in 1927, the DeSoto was the first cinema in the Southeastern United States to screen sound films. In addition to showcasing dozens of feature length and short films every year, RIFF also programs industry workshops and an annual make-up artist competition.
This year's Festival will be September 15th-18th

Americanism Committee
It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Mr. Howard Cothran, Commander of Post 525 of the Military Order of the Purple Heart. He was the prime driver in the reclamation efforts for the Old East View Cemetery that many of us helped with last year and then attended the Purple Heart Award ceremony to one of the deceased in that cemetery just recently.
Howard was a big supporter of the activities of our club.
Services for Mr. Cothran will be Saturday, August 27, 2016,
12 noon at St. Paul Baptist Church with Pastor Diane Ford officiating.
----------------------------------------------------------------------- Bill King reports he signed up a number of volunteers to visit 4th grade classes in September for "GiveAKidAFlagToWave" but he has a few more schools that need to be covered. Bill will be at Friday's meeting with the signup sheets. Please consider volunteering to visit a school and make a presentation on our US Flags history.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Americanism Committee will meet on Monday, August 29th, 5:30 at the Fair Office.

Tillman Clocktower Race Nets More than $23K!
Another successful Tillman Clocktower 5K Run and 2 Mile Health Walk is in the books, and we could not have asked for a better day. Approximately 460 runners and walkers, 65 volunteers, and 33 sponsors, along with a few hundred supporters and friends joined together on an overcast and quite muggy morning last Saturday in Heritage Park for the 31st Annual Gary Tillman Memorial Clocktower 5K Road Race and 2 Mile Health Walk. Runners from age 6 to 87 were there to challenge Clocktower Hill and to support the Family Resource Center in the fight against child abuse and neglect. Final numbers are still being tallied, but we expect to net more than $23,000 this year, one of our best in recent years.
The winner of the men's race was Franco Oswaldo in a time of 17:52, and the women's winner, for the third year in a row, was Jill Braley, in a time of 19:00. Several Rome Exchangites competed in the race as well. Complete results can be found on the race website by clicking HERE.
The race organizers owe a debt of gratitude to the volunteers, most of whom are members of the Exchange Club of Rome, who gave of themselves before, during, and after the race to ensure that the participants had a memorable experience that will make them want to return year after year. Without our volunteers this would be just another road race in Rome.
Last, but certainly not least, our sponsors are simply awesome. We asked and they came through, at a level that we have not seen in several years. The Exchange Club of Rome and the Coosa Valley Fair were our Presenting sponsors. Platinum sponsors were Floyd Medical Center, Georgia Northwestern Technical College, and Redmond Regional Medical Center. Our greatest increase this year was seen at the Gold level, represented by Advance Rehab, Chick-Fil-A Dwarf House, Coosa Valley Credit Union, Cycle Therapy, Garner and Glover Insurance, Kindred Hospital, McRae, Stegall, Peek, Harman, Smith, & Monroe, LLP, Performance Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine, Pridemore & Cox Orthodontics, Rome Orthopaedic Center, and Tedesco Law Office.
Silver sponsors were Benjamin F. Edwards, C&S Trophies, Heritage First Bank, Pro Performance Personal Training, and Q102. Bronze sponsors were Eagle Rock Distributing, KRE8SHUNS Mobile DJ Services, Kroger, Rome Runners Club, Team 360, and Ted Buckenham Photography. Several friend of the race supported us at a level below the official sponsorships, and include Representative Katie Dempsey, Greene's Jewelers, Hi Tech Signs, River City Bank, Sweet Frog Yogurt, and Tyson Foods. Please patronize these businesses and let them know how much we appreciate them!

Exchange Fellowship
This week please remember these Exchangites in your thoughts and prayers:
Mike Simmons, our Director of Security annually at our Coosa Valley Fair and a motorcycle policeman for the Rome PD was struck by a car while leaving one wreck scene to travel to another. He was wearing a yellow traffic vest and his emergency lights were operating. Mike was operated on and a rod was place in his leg. But you know, you can't keep a good man down. Mike is now in rehab and faces a long recovery period. Please keep this good friend of Exchange in your thoughts and prayers.
Exchangite Bobby Padgett has a combo defibrillator/pace maker implanted this past week. Please continue to keep Bobby in your thoughts and prayers. He has had a rough several months now.
If you have fellowship information, please let us know. The email addresses are:
