Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (Drones)
David Wright
David K. Wright, Lt. Col. USAF (Ret) is President of Spectrum Education, LLC. He earned a Bachelor's Degree is Aerospace Engineering from Auburn University, a Master's Degree in Public Administration from the University of West Florida and is a graduate of USAF Test Pilot's School.
David taught electro-optics and infrared systems in the Royal Air Force Aerosystems Course, Cranwell, England, served as Senior Aerospace Science Instructor, AFJROTC Rome High School and served as Regional Coordinator for Etowah Georgia Youth Science and Technology Center (GYSTC) in Rome. He is a private pilot and served as a weapons systems officer and flight test engineer in the RF-4C Phantom and F-15 Eagle. David has over 2000 hours of flight time.
He has served as the President and Chairman of the Board for TigerFlight Foundation, Commander of the Rome Civil Air Patrol Composite Squadron, President of the Rome Breakfast Optimist Club and has served on several of the Rome/Floyd County SPLOST Committees.

Reservation Deadline Is FRIDAY at 5 PM
Invitations to all members have been sent for the June 24th Installation Dinner to be held at the Palladium.
RESERVATIONS MUST BE IN BY 5 PM ON FRIDAY, JUNE 17TH.
Our very special guest who will be doing the installation is
Elizabeth Grantham who will assume the Presidency of the National Exchange Club a few weeks later at the national convention in Houston, TX.
All members are urged to go online and RSVP for the dinner for themselves and their spouse or guest. The cost of this dinner is covered in your dues, but if you wish to bring more than one additional person with you, there will be a $20 per person charge.
Please remember because of guarantees that have to be made to the company catering the event, our Board of Directors has adopted a policy that if you make reservations for an event and you do not cancel your reservations seven days prior to the event you will be charged for the cost of your reservation.
Orientation On TUESDAY At FRC
Invitations to a member orientation has been emailed to all Rome Exchangites to be held on Tuesday, June 21st at 5:30 pm at the Exchange Club Family Resource Center located at 5 Professional Court.
Our local team will be supplemented by Dr. William Bailey, National Exchange Volunteer Field Representative. This orientation is for any member of our club who has never been through an orientation, or who would like an updated education on what is Exchange and what is the history of the Rome Club and an explanation of all of our activities and community involvement.
A pizza supper will be served with "liquid" refreshments, so please RSVP to the email sent to you to insure there is enough food and drinks.
To be a good Exchangite, YOU need to understand all about the Exchange Club of Rome and this is your opportunity to learn.
District Convention News
Big News from District Convention!!
The Exchange Club of Rome was a big winner at the District Convention being held at Callaway Gardens last weekend.
Club Awards include:
President JP Cooper was kept busy accepting plaques on behalf of the club from District President Barney Knighton including Lisa Glisson Best Fundraising Award for large clubs for Strike Out Child Abuse, Cecil Kirby Best Community Service Project for large clubs...Toys For Tots.
Harold McMillon Best History Book - prepared by Meredith Brown and Barbara Carter.
Ellie Royal Best Treasurer Award for large clubs...Meredith Brown

Special Presidential Certificates of Commendation were presented to two of our members, District Treasurer Bryan Shealy and District ACE Award Chairman Giles Chapman.

FRC Honored By Georgia District
Special recognition was given to Rome's Exchange Club Family Resource Center at the District Convention on it's 25th anniversary year. Presenting a plaque to FRC Executive Director Tina Bartleson was Lisa Glisson, chair of the Georgia District Child Abuse Prevention Foundation at the annual CAP breakfast. In addition, the CAP Foundation presented a monetary donation to the center.
FRC Asks You Think About Helping With School Supplies
Tina Bartleson has asked Rome Exchangites to begin thinking about helping our Family Resource Center Parent Aids purchase school supplies for their client families by donating gift cards.
While school just let out, Tina says it is not too early to start thinking about school supplies since local schools start the first of August.
The very best way you can help is with a gift card from one of our local stores that sells school supplies like Walmart, Staples, etc. With gift cards in hand, the Parent Aids can purchase just what the children need.

Exchangite Bobby Padgett has a blood clot on his heart, but as blood clots go, it is "stable". Doctor wants to restart blood thinners to address this. When they did a scan of his brain to assess the hematomas, they were gone! Progress every day, but still needs prayers for strength.
Exchangite Louise Branham has some minor surgery but may have to have additional surgery. Please keep Louise in your thoughts and prayers.
Exchangite Stacy Walker fell and broke a hip.
Exchangite Bob Evans is recuperating from a quadruple bypass. Please remember Bob and his family.
Exchangite Rhonda Wallace's dad had AoritcValve Replacement on last week. Please remember this family in you thoughts and prayers.

Meal Policy Of The Exchange Club Of Rome
Members are encouraged to bring prospective member guests to all regular meetings. The club is most happy to pay for the meals of prospects the first three times they visit, more then that you are required to pay for your guest's meal unless they have submitted an application for membership, in which case the meals will remain at no charge. If you bring a non-prospect guest, someone to just join you for lunch, or if you take out a lunch for anyone that is not a member, you are required to pay for your guest's or takeout meal. The cost of the meal is $10 per meal and must be paid to the Treasurer or other officer at the time of the meeting. Money can also be placed in the Dues Box in the lobby.
