FRC Program

We conclude our April Child Abuse Prevention Month activities this week with a program presented by the Family Resource Center.  Come and meet the FRC Team on Friday, hear more about how the Exchange Parent Aide model helps families, discover the winner of April's Blue Monday contest, and hear a recap of the month's events in honor of Child Abuse Prevention Month.  It promises to be a fun and celebratory meeting!

Menu:
BBQ Pulled Pork, Fried Fish, BBQ Beans, Potato Salad, Coleslaw, Bread, Garden Salad, Cobbler, Pie and Ice Cream.

Donate Your Clothes And Help The Family Resource Center Families
Cleaning out your closets?  Getting rid of clothes you can no longer wear?  You can donate these clothes and at the same time help the families of the Exchange Club Family Resource Center obtain clothes.

The Hospitality House operates a "previously worn" clothing outlet and if you donate your old clothes to them and tell them to credit the account of the FRC, families can than secure clothing needs using that credit.

The process is simple:
  • List the clothing items you are donating on a piece of paper.
  • Take the items to the shopping center where the IGA is located on Shorter Avenue and go to the opposite end of the strip center where you will find a door on the side that accepts donations.
  • Give them you list and tell them to give the list to Vickie for the Exchange Club Family Resource Center and the donation will be credited to the FRC account for our families.

Just another easy way you can donate to child abuse prevention.

Jim Bishop Memorial Golf Tournament

Friday, April 22 dawned with threatening clouds and a chance of thunderstorms but Chairman Ben Levy made the decision to proceed with the Jim Bishop Memorial Golf Tournament which was held at the Stonebridge Golf Course in Rome.  It turned out to be a great decision.  As the day wore on, the clouds gave way and it turned out to be a great day for golf. This year we had 13 teams competing and helping raise money for the Family Resource Center.

Pinsons Builders won the event with a score of 53.
Georgia Secure Shred came in second with a 55.

Thanks to Ben and all the Exchangites and FRC staff that participated in this event.

Volunteers needed...
Coosa Valley Fair Logo
Coosa Valley Fair President John Garner is looking for volunteers to fill two chair person positions for this years fair in October.

Food Booth Chair - This person will work with the organizations that occupy the permanent block concession buildings.  These buildings are filled by long standing non-profits, and the chairman's job would be to make sure the rental agreements are in order, answer questions, and be the "go to" person between the CVFA and the organizations.

Photography Chairman -This person would be responsible for preparing the building for the entries and receiving them, displaying the entries, securing judges, and being there after the fair to return the entries back to the owners.

If you are interested in looking at either of these positions, please give John Garner a call at 706-346-3885.  John says for either of these chairmanships there are experienced Exchangites who will help train you and get you started in your new job.

Meal Policy Of The Exchange Club Of Rome
Members are encouraged to bring prospective member guests to all regular meetings.  The club is most happy to pay for the meals of prospects the first three times they visit, more then that you are required to pay for your guest's meal unless they have submitted an application for membership, in which case the meals will remain at no charge  If you bring a non-prospect guest, someone to just join you for lunch, or if you take out a lunch for anyone that is not a member, you are required to pay for your guest's or takeout meal.  The cost of the meal is $10 per meal and must be paid to the Treasurer or other officer at the time of the meeting.  Money can also be placed in the Dues Box in the lobby.
