At our last meeting....
At our last meeting, the Rome Exchange Club was proud to host the annual recognition of the STAR students in the Rome and Floyd County area. Al Hodge, President and CEO of the Greater Rome Chamber of Commerce, presented the STAR Student from each high school. Each STAR student then told about their college plans and introduced the person they had selected as their STAR teacher - someone who had been influential in helping them achieve their academic goals.
In addition to presentation of the STAR students, Hodge also announced the System winner from both the City and the County schools. Mary Margret Wright of Darlington School was the City winner and Daniel Lovell of Model High was the County winner. For the first time ever, there was a tie for STAR student at Rome High. Both were announced as winners.

Exchange Fellowship
This week please remember these Exchangites in your thoughts and prayers:
Ken Brinson, father-in-law of our caterer, Marie Bishop-Brinson passed away this past weekend. Marie is with the family and be missing our meeting this week. Please remember Marie and her family.
Exchangite Bryan Shealy is recovering from a rotator cuff surgery last Friday. He had hoped to be back at work on Monday, but as of Tuesday he had not felt up to it yet.
Exchangite Julia Dent continues her rehabilitation program at Golden Living. While she is showing some progress, it is going to be an extended process possibly lasting another month. Fred says the sessions really tire her out and so the "no visitors" policy is still in effect. Prayers for a speedy and full recovery are requested.
Exchangite Paul Smith's wife Gerry was recently in the hospital but is home now. Please rembember Paul in your thoughts and prayers.
If you have fellowship information, please let us know. The email addresses are:
If you have emailed one of the above and your fellowship need has not been announced within a few hours, please email one of the other contacts.
