The First Great News...
From FRC Director Tina Barlleson...
  • I have a WONDERFUL update for the Annual Campaign...we have now officially exceeded our Annual Campaign goal by over $3,000.  That's right, over $103,000 has been contributed by individuals, businesses, churches, and Clubs---over and above special events!  This includes, of course, donations from our own Exchange Club and members.  These gifts are a testimony to the faith that many people and groups put into your Family Resource Center. The donations represent an investment into the children and families of our community.  THANK YOU for your generosity this year. THANK YOU for believing in child abuse prevention.  We promise to be good stewards of your trust!
(Now this doesn't mean that if you haven't yet made your donation or pledge for this year we don't need it.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  We have reached our goal which is a minimum to keep our program going at the current level, but only YOU can help us grow and reach more families.  Please use the link at the top of the Newsletter and make you donation to the FRC safely on line.  We need 100% of all Exchangites to give.)
The Next Great News...
Thank You Georgia Power

FRC Board President Robin Hice, Director Tina Bartleson, and Toni Hanna Regional External Affairs Director of Georgia Power
The Georgia Power Foundation has donated $5000 to the Annual Campaign.  WOW!

From Tina And The FRC Staff

Tina, Kathy, Shemika, Rita, Maxine, Mariah and Audrey all say THANK YOU for the wonderful gift cards and Christmas wishes delivered to the office on Friday. This was unexpected and simply wonderful!  We feel appreciated...and hope you know how much we appreciate you too!

Now Some Good News...
You recently read in our fellowship requests prayers for Dan Caesar's great nephew Micah Winkle was at St. Jude's Hospital receiving treatment for a very aggressive bone cancer.  Dan now reports that the young man's latest tests show he is cancer free.  He will still require testing every 3 months.  Now...this is good news!

At our last meeting.....

The Season in Song was our program and a beautiful program of music it was.  Leading the singing was Barbara Elliott and Anita Erickson and the terrific piano playing by 10 year old Levi Bennett, Barbara's student.  The room was filled by the beautiful voices of our two singing guests and well as solos and a great sing-a-long of familiar Christmas carols.  If you weren't in the mood when you arrived
you surely were when you left.  Bravo!

Are You Saving Those Bottle Tops and Carton Ends?

At a previous meeting, Exchangites Barbara Carter and Meredith Brown outlined plans for this years scrapbook.  The duo explained they are also asking Exchangites to save bottle tops from Coke products and the end package panels from Coke can products.  There will be a basket in the lobby of the Palladium to deposit them and they will be exchanged for on-line services in producing the scrapbook.
Exchange Fellowship
This week please remember these Exchangites in your thoughts and prayers:

Condolences to Exchangite Gail McGill Johnson on the death of her mother Edna McGill, Exchangite Ben Harrison on the loss of his mother, Exchangite Scottie Edwards' wife Carol on the death of her brother Robert Lee  "Bubba" Swint, and Exchangite Lydel Hunt on the loss of his mother, Martha Hunt at age 98.

Please direct your thoughts and prayers to these club members and their families at this most difficult time for them.

Exchangite Rhonda Wallace's father, Paul Selman, is waiting to see doctors after the first of the year to discuss a valve replacement after a heart cath here in Rome.  Please remember him and the whole family with prayers for a complete recovery.

Meal Policy Of The Exchange Club Of Rome
Members are encouraged to bring prospective member guests to all regular meetings.  The club is most happy to pay for the meals of prospects the first three times they visit, more then that you are required to pay for your guest's meal unless they have submitted an application for membership, in which case the meals will remain at no charge  If you bring a non-prospect guest, someone to just join you for lunch, or if you take out a lunch for anyone that is not a member, you are required to pay for your guest's or takeout meal.  The cost of the meal is $10 per meal and must be paid to the Treasurer or other officer at the time of the meeting.  Money can also be placed in the Dues Box in the lobby.
