Volunteer Opportunity....
Toys For Tots Train
The final registration for the 2015 Toys for Tots will be held on Saturday, December 5th, from 10 AM to 4 PM.   As usual, volunteers from the XC will be registering the families that need help with providing toys for their children. We will need six volunteers per shift, with the first shift being from 10 AM to 1 PM and the second from 1 PM until 4 PM (or shortly thereafter).

If you would like to volunteer, please email your name, email address, telephone number, and shift you would like to work to [email protected]. Preference will be given to those who have done the registration before, but don't let that stop you from registering. We'd rather have too many volunteers than not enough.
Exchange "Elves" Play Santa
For Seniors

Once again this year the Exchange Club of Rome is joining forces with the Floyd County Sheriff's Department to make Christmas just a little more merrier for a group of senior citizens who have no close families to make this holiday special.

Chaired by Wanda Whitten, the Exchange "Elves" have adopted 13 different seniors. Supplied with a short "wish list" from each person, gifts will be assembled and distributed by the Sheriff's Department with the assistance of the Rome/Floyd Parks and Rec Department. Another great service project by our club.
Proudly we hail.....

We need nominations for "Proudly We Hail" American Flag displays at residences, businesses, schools, and government sites.  Nomination forms will be available at the meeting Friday.

At our last meeting......

A busy meeting this past week with lots going on......
Exchangite Bill King  introduced Rev. Phillip May, Pastor, Pleasant Valley South Baptist Church who presented our One Nation Under God program.

Exchangite Gail Johnson, who served as Race Director for the Gary Tillman Clocktower Race presented a check FRC Executive Director Tina Bartleson.  The check shows the total amount of money the race brought to the Family Resource Center,$21,658!!!

Five Exchangites who were not present at our last business meeting were presented  Awards for lengthy years of service by National Exchange. Pictured here are John Youmans, Stephen Patton, Steve Cox, Tim Pape, and Dr Richard Dixon.

Exchangite Hal Gosnell who is Chair of the Rome Toys for Tots campaign outlined the remaining steps needed to be accomplished in order for us to have a successful TFT campaign.
Exchangites Barbara Carter and Meredith Brown outlined plans for this years scrapbook.  The duo explained they are also asking Exchangites to save bottle tops from Coke products and the end package panels from Coke can products.  There will be a basket in the lobby of the Palladium to deposit them and they will be exchanged for on-line services in producing the scrapbook.
Family Resource Center News...

The Family Resource Center is in the midst of our Adopt-a-Family for Christmas program. We currently have 20 families that we are serving through this program, but still have five families left unsponsored. We are doing our best to make sure that all of the families who have applied for this program are able to get the assistance that they need. The sizes of the families range from 2-4 people.

If you are interested in sponsoring a family, please contact Kelsee Estes, the FRC intern at [email protected] or call (706) 290-0764.

The FRC has received several bits of good news in the last few days:
  • We received a $1000 grant from NGEMC to purchase car seats and home safety items.
  • We received a $300 gift from Hampton Inn's recent "blue jean" day.
  • We are designated as one of the charities to receive a portion of proceeds generated through the upcoming New Romans Auction.
  • We have final figures in for Strike Out Child Abuse Bowling Tournament. The project raised $5,162!  That's $1200 MORE INCOME than from the 2014 event! It was a smooth and fun night.

Exchange Fellowship
This week please remember these Exchangites in your thoughts and prayers:

Meal Policy Of The Exchange Club Of Rome
Members are encouraged to bring prospective member guests to all regular meetings.  The club is most happy to pay for the meals of prospects the first three times they visit, more then that you are required to pay for your guest's meal unless they have submitted an application for membership, in which case the meals will remain at no charge  If you bring a non-prospect guest, someone to just join you for lunch, or if you take out a lunch for anyone that is not a member, you are required to pay for your guest's or takeout meal.  The cost of the meal is $10 per meal and must be paid to the Treasurer or other officer at the time of the meeting.  Money can also be placed in the Dues Box in the lobby.
