Proudly We Hail.....

 Needs your help

Again this year, we will be honoring homes, businesses, and government agencies who proudly fly the American Flag ... and we need you.....

Your assistance is needed in identifying and nominating citizens, business owners/institutions and governmental agencies that are flying the American flag appropriately and on a consistent basis. This is your opportunity to thank, and recognize citizens in our community who honor and display our national emblem.

Members of the Americanism Committee will visit the nominee sites and select the winner(s) to be invited to a luncheon meeting and receive a Proudly We Hail Award.

Names and addresses of the nominees should be given to Giles Chapman or any member of the Americanism Committee.

Did You Get THIS Update From National Exchange?

Exchange Fellowship
This week it seems like we have a lot people we need to pray for:
  • Exchangite Robin Miller will be having knee replacement on December the 17th and will be out of work 4-6 weeks.
  • Dr Randy Green's wife Becky fell and broke her hip  and had surgery at Redmond and is still there recovering.  Randy, while visiting her in the hospital fell and got a nasty cut.  They fixed him up at the hospital and he was released.   Randy and his wife live in Horizon Bay.  Please keep both Becky and Randy in your thoughts and prayers.
  • Exchangite GiGi Binion's mother Cel Bishop is recovering from a broken hip and needs to be remembered in your thoughts and prayers for a fast and complete recovery.
  • Wanda Whitten asks for prayers for the family of one of her teen contestants, Miss Apple Capital Outstanding Teen. Her name was Sydney Ridings, she was 15, and had bone cancer.  She passed away earlier this week.

  • Sherry Loyd, wife of Exchangite Jim Loyd is having severe kidney problems and is in need of our prayers.
  • Exchangite Bill Wigley is back in his retirement home after spending a month in the hospital.  As the dementia is progressing his health is declining rapidly. Please keep him in your prayers.
  • Mary Louise Dixon, wife of Exchangite Richard Dixon has started a round of chemotherapy..
  • Exchangite Giles Chapman continues treatments for cancer, but says he is feeling great.
  • Please continue to keep Exchangite Barbara Carter and her family in your thoughts and prayers.
  • Let's not forget to remember Exchangite Len Woodward's daughter Emily Macy.  Emily is not doing well.
  • Please continue to keep the family of Milton Tippin in your thoughts and prayers.
  • Exchangite Brenda Gail Baldwin needs continued prayers as she receives treatment for MS.
  • Exchangite Dan Scott's wife, Terri continues to do well in her treatment for cancer and needs our support.
  • Exchangite Ray Dempsey has completed his latest round of chemo and is doing OK. He has been diagnosed with cancer of the liver.
  • Exchangite Sam Burrell is in declining  health, both physically and mentally.  Please remember Sam and his family.

Toys for Tots

Toys For Tots Train
One more Registration Day has been scheduled for Saturday, December 6th from 10A to 4P at the Good Neighbor Ministry, 208 E. Second Street.

Toy Distribution has been set for Saturday, December 20th at the
Coosa Valley Fair ground.  As Hal explained at a recent meeting, much of the work for the distribution will be done  before the distribution day in order for that to go smoothly and quickly.

Meredith Brown will be the contact for those who can help sort and get toys ready for distribution. She will need people from Monday, Dec. 8th through Friday, Dec. 12th, both morning and afternoons. On Saturday morning, Dec. 13th, we will pack the toys for the Sheriff's program. The following week, Monday, Dec. 15th through Friday, Dec. 19th, she will need volunteers again for both morning and afternoon sorting and picking. If you can work only in the morning or afternoon, that is fine. Also, if there are days you can and cannot work, just let Meredith know. Her email address is meredith@howseandrice.com. We will need 4 to 8 people there most of the time to get the work done.

Meal Policy Of The Exchange Club Of Rome
Members are encouraged to bring prospective member guests to all regular meetings.  The club is most happy to pay for the meals of prospects the first two times they visit, more then that you are required to pay for your guest's meal.  If you bring a non-prospect guest, someone to just join you for lunch, or if you take out a lunch for anyone that is not a member, you are required to pay for your guest's or takeout meal.  The cost of the meal is $7 per meal and must be paid to the Treasurer at the time of the meeting.
