Greetings!
Next Meeting Friday, November 14th
Veterans Day Program Normandy Invasion Memorial Service
Exchangite Terry Clift will be presenting our program this week. Terry and his wife Nancy were in Normandy this past Memorial Day and attended the Memorial Day program which was one week prior to the 70th anniversary of D-Day. The 70th anniversary is especially significant because those who actually participated in D-Day are a minimum of 88 years old and many will not be around for future anniversaries.
Terry has a slide presentation and video with lots of narrative about what went right and what went wrong during the invasion. He also will talk about Frank Towers, a WWII veteran, who was honored at the ceremony

Menu: baked chicken, steak and gravy, steamed rice, English peas, carrots, rolls salad cobbler and cake

- Mary Louise Dixon, wife of Exchangite Richard Dixon has started a round of chemotherapy..
- Exchangite Giles Chapman's doctors tell him that his cancer has metastasized and is in his lymph glands. He has completed two of the series of three treatments to help control this and is feeling great.
- Please continue to keep Exchangite Barbara Carter and her family in your thoughts and prayers.
- Let's not forget to remember Exchangite Len Woodward daughter Emily Macy. Emily is not doing well.
- Exchangite Grant Magness was injured in an auto wreck involving a deer last week. Grant was in hospital in Chattanooga but is now home. Please keep Grant and his family in your thoughts and prayers for his complete and speedy recovery.
- Please continue to keep the family of Milton Tippin in your thoughts and prayers. Milton passed away last Wednesday.
- Exchangite Brenda Gail Baldwin needs continued prayers as she receives treatment for MS.

According to event organizer, Robin Hice, "STRIKE Out Child Abuse brings everyone together for a fun-filled night of friendly competition. Family Resource Center.....
The Family Resource Center enjoyed a great weekend at Business EXPO 2014:
- We shared 40 Center information packets with area businesses;
- We sold one lane sponsorship for our upcoming STRIKE Out Child Abuse Tournament;
- We gathered close to 200 names to add to our newsletter and campaign databases;
- We made positive connections with our community and other businesses.
 | | Special thanks to all those Exchange members who helped us out this past weekend: Al Bonnyman, Stacey Brown, Terry Clift, Greg Gaston, Gail Johnson, Pat Patton, Charles Stephens, Buzz Wachsteter! |
Are you looking for someplace to have lunch on December 5th??--this is the day of our Exchange Club Christmas Party so there will be no Noon Exchange Meeting this day. Please join Tina Bartleson and the fine folks of the New Romans Club at their annual Holiday Charity Auction at Coosa County Club. The $15 cost buys an awesome lunch--Waldorf salad, Chicken Rollentine, Mashed Potatoes, Green Bean Almandine, and Glazed Carrots with White Chocolate Mousse for desert! You'll get to hear a lively auction hosted by our own Lynn Dempsey. Best of all, a portion of the proceeds raised will benefit The Exchange Club Family Resource Center. Tina has seen some of the prizes and there are some nice items as well as one-of-a-kind objects that could make for some fine gift-giving this season! Doors open at 10:30 AM. To make reservations, call Ruth 706-314-9232 (make reservations by Nov. 28th).
Exchange members support the Center in a big way! Did you know that..... - The Exchange Club of Rome and Coosa Valley Fair Association have contributed almost $29,000 to your child abuse prevention center in 2014 through direct donations and event sponsorships?
- 125 Exchange members have made direct individual contributions to the Family Resource Center to date in 2014, totaling over $30,000?
Thanks members for your support! Your investment of time AND money makes our community a better place...and it makes our Center stronger! Santa is beginning to check his list and you can too! If you are interested in adopting a Family Resource Center child or family for Christmas, please let Tina know!

Club Builders Look For Exchange Legacies For Rome High Excel Club
Members of the growth team working on the next Excel Club at Rome High School are looking for legacies, children, grandchildren, or other family members of Exchange members, who attend RHS. These students should already have some connection with Exchange through the family connection and would be great prospects for the initial charter members of the club.
Drop an email to buzzrome@comcast.net and let him know about any of your family members who would fit this category.
Excel is the high school arm of the National Exchange Club and works with students to achieve community service, patriotism, the prevention of child abuse, and service to our youth.

Meal Policy Of The Exchange Club Of Rome
Members are encouraged to bring prospective member guests to all regular meetings. The club is most happy to pay for the meals of prospects the first two times they visit, more then that you are required to pay for your guest's meal. If you bring a non-prospect guest, someone to just join you for lunch, or if you take out a lunch for anyone that is not a member, you are required to pay for your guest's or takeout meal. The cost of the meal is $7 per meal and must be paid to the Treasurer at the time of the meeting.
