Welcome
Dear LSU Family,

I'm excited to introduce the LSU Postscript, which will bring our most recent news straight to your inbox each month, so you'll always be aware of the impact we have on the world beyond our campus gates. If you know someone who might be interested in receiving this email, please forward it along to them. I hope you enjoy learning about all the great things happening at the university.

Sincerely,

LSU President F. King Alexander

Rising Rivers
LSU's river experts provided guidance and assistance to officials as the Mississippi River reached flood levels. Professor Clint Willson of the LSU Center of River Studies met with local media outlets to discuss the ways the Mississippi River could be operated to mitigate any potential flooding in South Louisiana.

Top-Notch Honors
The LSU Roger Hadfield Ogden Honors College opened the newly renovated French House with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The updated home of our Honors College serves as a model facility for Honors studies around the country. This facility is something for all of the LSU community to be proud. Please stop by to see the new French House on your next visit to campus.

Iowa of the Tiger
LSU offers students a myriad of opportunities to participate in research, travel abroad and gain hands-on experience. A group of Manship School of Mass Communication students recently had the trip of a lifetime during Iowa of the Tiger, where they spent 12 days at the Iowa Caucuses, meeting with presidential hopefuls, engaging with voters and experiencing the intricate interplay between campaigns and journalism.

Printing the Future
LSU students and faculty are at the forefront of using 3D printing to assist in cancer screenings. The School of Architecture and the Medical and Health Physics program, in partnership with Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, are working to create safer cancer radiation treatments for patients. You can learn more about the program on this LSU Research Works video feature.

LSU research works ...
LSU faculty conduct research that touches the lives of every Louisiana citizen. As the state's flagship university, our work focuses on finding solutions to some of the state's largest problems, which span a wide range from chronic disease to coastal land loss. Through science, scholarship, and discovery, our faculty and students don't just make a name for themselves - they make a difference for the people of our state.
