Annual Membership Reporting and Fees 2013-14

On June 17, all members were mailed a membership reporting and fees post-card.  Click here for a sample copy of the post card. This post-card will give you instructions on how to pay your 2013-14 membership fees and complete your FRD and IOLTA reporting online. You are encouraged to use the online reporting option. Although this method of submission differs from past paper reporting, the new system will be easier in the long run and is a much more cost effective method of reporting. A firm administrator may also register to do all the payment of fees and reporting of FRD and IOLTA for the entire firm. If you wish to continue with paper reporting, forms will be available on The State Bar's website. There is a $10.00 processing fee for all paper FRD & IOLTA submissions, which must be paid at the time of submission. Online reporting and fee payment will be available at this link beginning at 11:59pm June 17th. Questions: contact Anita Casey at caseya@wvbar.org.

West Virginia Commission on Uniform State Laws

The West Virginia Commission on Uniform State Laws is established by statute to work with Commissioners from other states in the Uniform Law Commission (ULC) to develop uniform and model state acts, and when appropriate work with the West Virginia State Legislature to get them enacted into law in West Virginia.  By statute, the Commission issues an annual report.  Click here to view a copy of the 2013 Report to the Legislature.

Legal Food Frenzy

Legal Food Frenzy was started in a Martinsburg Law Office in 2011 to generate friendly competition with other firms in Berkeley County to see which firm could raise the most food for the local food pantry.  This year we are taking Legal Food Frenzy statewide - that is where your firm can help. We are asking attorneys to bring in food and set up space in their lobby (be a host) for the community to drop off nonperishable items.  If you decided to participate, you will receive a flyer template that you can print and hang in your local community.
