 Expiration of Forwarding State Bar Mail by USPS  
The United States Post Office will terminate the forwarding of mail from the old Kanawha Boulevard address to the current address on December 5, 2012.  Please be sure the correct address for the State Bar is in your records.  Incorrectly addressed mail will be returned to you by the Post Office.  The State Bar will not be able to honor time sensitive mail received late due to an incorrect address.  The current address is THE WEST VIRGINIA STATE BAR, 2000 DEITRICK BOULEVARD, CHARLESTON, WV 25311.

 Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation Board of Trustees 
The West Virginia State Bar's Board of Governors received letters of interest from an extraordinarily qualified set of applicants for nomination to The Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation's Nominating Committee.   The State Bar is pleased to announce that the names of the following individuals were submitted for consideration to the Foundation's Nominating Committee:  Robby J.  WV Health Care Authority 
The WV Executive Branch recently updated its HIPAA Preemption analysis, which may be found here.  There is also a summary and flow chart explaining the mechanics of HIPAA preemption.   While it is produced annually to support the Executive Branch's internal privacy compliance, it may be useful to others and serves as a database of all health information laws in WV.  Any questions may be directed to Sallie Milam, WV's Chief Privacy Officer, at 304.558.7000 or smilam@hcawv.org.
