ALBUQUERQUE INSPIRATION: IAPS 2011 I kicked off June by attending my first IAPS (International Association of Pastel Societies) convention in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It was a week filled with inspiring workshops, demonstrations, seminars full of pastel artists from around the globe (and a margarita or two). I reconnected with old friends and made many new ones, and capped off my week with a spectacular day of plein air painting in the foothills of the Sandia Mountains of New Mexico. See more photos on my Facebook page.
This summer brings openings at two coastal galleries: the newly opened Eventide gallery, 63 Main St, Essex, MA, and Sosebee Gallery, 4 Old South Wharf, Nantucket. Please come see my new work!
My summer classes and workshops continue, including Painting Beaches, Waves, and Water, Children's Portraits, and another beginner workshop on July 12--a great way to take a break from the heat and find out what inspires you. Student comments: "I have learned SO much from you in the classes I have attended. I took about 2 or 3 years of oil on and off and didn't get as much out of those classes as I have in the few I have taken from you. Thanks." - Pam Short "Thanks for giving each and ever student in your workshop the personalized instructional tips to paint a successful painting! - Eileen Casey |
