Award Winning Composer
Alex Wilkinson at Sac VIPs
Tonight at 7pm
| |
If you are a Producer, Director or music composer of any level, Alex Wilkinson will have some insights to share with you.
Wilkinson is the featured speaker at tonight Sacramento Video Industry Professionals meeting at 7pm in the Coloma Community Center auditorium, 4623 T Street.
The session tonight will help you decide how to add music cues to a scene or music to your television show. This may even help you understand what you are really looking for from a music editor or music composer.
Alex Wilkinson has composed music or been the music editor for many films over the years. Alex will share some of his expertise on how one may work with or become a composer for film and television. Alex will then give you a glance at how to create a filmscore creatively.
Sometimes a composer may think what he or she has composed is brilliant, and it may very well be, but maybe the director had something way different in mind and it takes a strength and confidence as well as an open mind to meet the music needs of a film. Alex will share with you some tips on how to deal with rejection in the film music biz.
Alex will show us a clip of the same film, one with music and one without so people can see how the mood and quality is affected. Join us to learn about this important part of the post-production process.

"Afternoon Delight" Film Wraps Production for 17th "A Place Called Sacramento" Film Festival
They may say it take a village to raise a child, but it takes an army and a bank to make a film....
Of the 10 winning scripts for this year's "A Place Called Sacramento" Film Festival, the Danna Wilberg directed production "Afternoon Delight" is the first to announce it is done with the production phase; all of the audio & video has been captured and now it's on to the editing. NOTE: This film has a decidedly "French" influence and both Director Danna Willberg and Producer Laura Chick, and Access Sacramento, express sympathy and support for the people of Nice and France after a large truck plowed through a Bastille Day crowd July 14. Here's a sample of the stats for this film from Producer Laura Chick's wrap up e-mail to the cast and crew:
