Butler began her radio show May 28, 2005, when the audio programming from Access Sacramento could only be heard via cable television.  Also known in her private party-music business as DJ Lerbeck, she features a mixed set of soul, rhythm and blues, hip-hop, rap, rock and occasionally even classical.

Much of the original music she shares may be heard for the first time in Sacramento on her radio show.

Congratulations to Ms. Butler for her dedication and for sharing her voice with the Sacramento community for more than a decade on Access Sacramento.

2016 Sacramento French Film Festival Open June 17

To celebrate its 15th anniversary in style, the Sacramento French Film Festival is changing the Opening Night order of events. This year, the Opening Film will precede the reception and start at 7 p.m., at the Crest Theatre.

The opening film Fatima, 2016 César for Best Film, can be attended without the Reception.  The opening reception begin after the film (around 9 p.m.) in the gorgeous Silver Room, located a block away from the Crest Theatre at 1025 9th Street, at the corner of K Street.

Multiculturalism and the immigrant experience are on the minds of French filmmakers this year, as the 2016 Sacramento French Film Festival line-up will attest. For writer/director Philippe Faucon, it has been a career-defining theme.

His latest film, Fatima (2015)  depicts the everyday struggles, tensions and humiliations, but also the moments of joy and fraternity, affecting two generations of immigrant women, trying to find their place in French society. Fatima is a joyful and kind-hearted celebration of their fortitude.

The complete program of the 15th Sacramento French Film Festival will be announced in early June.
