KUBU community producers planning for Friday's Birthday remote broadcast with Radio Programming Director Shane Carpenter (front).
|
Hard to imagine it was a year ago that KUBU signed on for the first time one-year ago. Since then, the air staff has grown to more than 70 community radio shows, providing nearly 100 hours a week of original programming. Show up Friday between 4:00 and 8:00 pm at Nationwide Freezer Meats Restaurant (1930 H Street, Sacramento) where KUBU will originate its first live remote broadcast on over-the-air KUBU. A year ago, the transmitter was in its first hours of operation, but Friday, it will be the first hours for new remote equipment using technology that was provided the the Sacramento Metropolitan Cable Television Commission so that the community voice can broadcast live from anywhere in Sacramento County. Several short cut-ins will be done between 4 and 6 pm, with a 6pm Birthday Bash launch and cake cutting. Stop by to say hello and have piece of cake before it runs out. KUBU window cling bumper stickers will be available, and air staff will be on the air live. Tune in to 96.5 FM or listen to KUBU on the TuneIn or Live365 mobile radio apps. On your computer connect to AccessSacramento.org.

Check it all out tonight in the full game replay at 7pm and Wednesday at 11 a.m. on Comcast or Consolidated Communications Channel 17, AT&T U-Verse Channel 14 and streaming from AccessSacramento.org.
