16th Sacramento Film and Music Festival Runs Through Sunday
Another great line up of film and entertainment kicks off tomorrow night and runs through Sunday, when the 16th Sacramento Film and Music Festival launches its 16th year from the Jean Runyan Theater in the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium, 1515 J Street, 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Our friends Nathan Schemel and Tony Shepard have another great schedule of films and hosted presentations. All of the films will be at the Memorial Auditorium except on Sunday when local filmmakers present their best 10-day efforts in the 10x10 Filmmaker Challenge.
Many of our own previous and current "A Place Called Sacramento" filmmakers are presenting original films at 6 p.m. at the Esquire IMAX theater to wrap up the festival.

Creatures in the Attic
andSacramento's Healing Arts FestivalCreatures are stirring in the studio this Wednesday, September 9th on LiveWire. Creatures In The Attic will be talking about their distinctive novelty collection and their Sci-Fi make-up artistry. Healing Arts Festival will be discussing their event happening September 24th to 25th.
Creatures in the Attic are creeping into the studio this week in between their many different Cons or Conventions to share their art with us. Don Redlingshafer is a Science Fiction Make-up Artist and will be sharing about some of his creations. His wife, Lily, creates; costumes, a line of stuff animals called Purgatory Pets, accessories and more.
The Healing Arts Festival is a metaphysical and holistic affair, taking place September 24th to 25th. This event features free workshops & lectures, food and exhibitors for the mind, body and soul. Also coming from the Healing Arts Festival is the keynote speaker and author Anne Angelheart with her book Twelve Universal Laws: The Truth That Will Transform Your Life.

KUBU Radio Producers & Talent To Meet Wednesday
Access Sacramento's community radio station "The Voice of Sacramento" KUBU 96.5 FM is having monthly meeting now for its producers and talent, as the group works on better ways to promote the station and continue the growth of its audience. You can listen to KUBU HERE.
Updates will include how to listen to KUBU on your smart phone or tablet using the LIVE 365 mobile app and congratulations to two new radio shows: The Lower Lounge airs Saturdays at 3 p.m. and the "Alpha Hotel" show Thursdays at 11 p.m. There will also be more information about some new equipment that will allow broadcasters to do their shows live from the field.

Free Studio Recertification Classes Available Through October

Access Sacramento TV Studio Control Room
|
A recertification class is REQUIRED for all Access Sacramento members who are already certified to use the TV studio. These one-day three-hour sessions will teach how to use new studio tripods, a new teleprompter system, and to provide a refresher on studio safety requirements.
Members who do not pass the recertification class by November 1 will not be allowed to reserve the TV studio after that time.
After this nine-week free opportunity, a fee will be charged to take the class. Tues. Sept. 15 6pm-9pm Sat. Sept. 26 3pm-6pm Tues. Sept. 29 3pm-6pm Wed. Oct. 7 6pm-9pm Sat. Oct. 17 9am-12pm Mon. Oct. 19 12pm-3pm Thurs. Oct. 29 6pm-9pm Sat. Oct. 31 12pm-3pm
