16th A Place Called Sacramento
Films Arriving

Today is submission day for filmmakers in the 16th annual "A Place Called Sacramento" film festival.

One by one, the final digital master of each film will be copied to  Access Sacramento's computers for creation of the Film Festival final on-screen show and a DVD or Blu-Ray copy that will be available for sale at the Film Festival.

After 10 original 10-minute scripts about Sacramento were selected last April, the filmmakers have worked all Spring and Summer to meet today's deadline.

Writer Greg Marker's project "A River Runs, Shoe It" jumped the gun late last week by turning in his finished film days early.

The rest of the filmmakers have spent the three-day Labor day Weekend finalizing their projects: final dialogue and audio edits, sound balancing, color correction, and creation of the the all-important closing credits! This is Sacramento's original film festival celebrating Sacramento's own writers, producers, directors, actors and production crew.

Save the Date - Oct. 4 1pm
GET YOUR TICKETS NOW

Tickets are available HERE for the world premiere of this year's films Oct. 4 at 1pm at the historic Crest Theatre in downtown Sacramento.

See stories featuring your friends, neighbors and the sites and locations that make Sacramento such a wonderful place.  Join us for a celebration of Sacramento filmmaking!

Hometown Sports Game of the Week

Though they compete in different leagues many miles apart, the Oak Ridge Trojans of El Dorado Hills and the Burbank Titans of South Sacramento have engaged in a fierce rivalry during recent years, most notably in playoff competition.

The two perennial powerhouses will not have to wait until the post-season to square off against each other this year, as they're headed for a non-league confrontation Friday evening in Access Sacramento's Home Town Sports Game of the Week.

Will James (left) and Jim Dimino on the sidelines at Sacramento City College last Friday.
Constantly placed in Dimino's Dozen Top-20 high school football rankings, the two squads bring contrasting styles sure to produce plenty of spice to this intriguing match-up.

A complete preview of this game can be found at our news blog AccessLocal.tv.

The full schedule of TV games is HERE.
