Friday Night Preview

Watch Laguna Creek vs. Christain Brothers Live at 7 p.m.

After registering lopsided victories in Week-Zero openers, visiting Laguna Creek and host Christian Brothers  are on a collision course Friday evening at Hughes Stadium in a Week-1 match-up on Access Sacramento 's Home Town Sports Game-of-the-Week.

Tune in Friday at 7 p.m. on Access Sacramento, Comcast/Consolidated Communications cable channel 17, AT&T U-Verse Channel 14 or streaming from AccessSacramento.org.

Dave Morton's Cardinals will attempt to open the season with back-to-back victories for the first time since 2011 after blasting West Campus, 59-0 at Cosumnes River College.

Led by two-way standouts Andrew Jones, Calvin Spellman, Earl Easley and Demond Rodgers, Laguna Creek demonstrates explosiveness on offense and fierce hitting on defense.

At Hughes Stadium, Dan Carmazzi's Falcons opened the season impressively, thumping River City, 48-9. Versatile Jamarri Jackson stole the show.  The flashy play-maker did it all.  On offense he scored a rushing touchdown and a receiving touchdown.  On defense he returned an interception for a touchdown, and he returned a punt for a touchdown.

Graphic's Operator Nick Dunn (Left) reviews graphics with Announcers Will James and Jim Dimino.

Friday's clash is sure to light up the Hughes Stadium scoreboard, but the big questions remains - which team will play enough defense to emerge with a victory?

Time will tell and we shall see.  Join us for the show.

Remote Radio Equipment Ordered

KUBU 96.5 Producers Work
on Process for Broadcasting
Live from the Field

Access Sacramento's community radio station "The Voice of Sacramento" KUBU 96.5 FM has ordered new equipment that will allow its announcers to broadcast live from the field.

Listen to KUBU HERE.

The equipment purchase was approved by the Sacramento Metropolitan Cable Television Commission (SMCTC) during last June's budget's hearing.

One of the tasks for the re-formed radio producer's group that has begun meeting once- a month will be to advise Access Sacramento on how to train members of using the equipment successfully and to effectively manage the scheduling of this new opportunity.

Since KUBU 96.5 FM is a non-commercial low-power FM station, the producer group will be working on rules for underwriting its use within the broadcast rules from both the FCC and the SMCTC.

Access Sacramento has 70 community radio producers providing 94 hours of original programming a week.  Radio producers should watch this column for more information or should contact Radio Program Director Shane Carpenter if they are not receiving the periodic e-mailed KUBU Radiogram announcements.

We encourage you to LIKE the KUBU Facebook page HERE.

You can also connect with the KUBU twitter feed by following @KUBU_965FM
