Broadway & Film Star Ben Vereen Visits "Sacramento Film Works" at Access Sacramento
The Access Sacramento TV studio welcomed legendary film and stage star Ben Vereen Monday to the taping of the Northern California Filmmaker Coalition's monthly taping of "Sacramento Film Works."
|
Ben Vereen (left) with Sacramento Film Works hosts Craig DeLuz and Amy Henry
|
Vereen, 68, launched his Broadway career in 1965 and continues to perform on stage, TV and Film, appearing earlier this year as the mayor of Cleveland in TV's "Hot in Cleveland."
The show taping features tips about Hollywood success, but also encourages overall support for the arts. Vereen tells how he was spurred to push for youth training and opportunity after hearing an elected official in Washington DC call today's youth a "lost" generation. Vereen rejects that description.
You can hear more during the Sacramento Film Works playback beginning Sept. 5 at 6 p.m. on Access Sacramento channel 17.
