Access Sacramento' next free orientation sessions are in 2015, beginning Tues. Jan 13 at 6pm.

Access Sacramento's regularly  scheduled  Orientation Sessions are beginning a new schedule in 2015. Orientations will be on the 2nd Tuesday and 3rd Wednesday.  

 

Orientation classes are free and open to the public. They last a little more than an hour. The orientation class is also a required step in becoming an Access Sacramento member and should be taken at your earliest convenience.   

 

The Orientation Class will give you a chance to ask questions and learn about our services and what we provide to the community and its members. We also describe the standard classes, member benefits, and provide a tour of the radio and TV studios and digital media lab.   

 

All classes are on a first come, first serve basis. We hope to see you there!

TV PREMIERE
15th Place Called Sacramento Film Festival 
 
This Sunday the 10 films from Access Sacramento's 15th Annual Place Called Sacramento Film Festival will broadcast on TV for the first time.

Tune in to Channel 17 at 5pm Sunday  to see the 10 films. They're all award-winning family friendly scripts made by Sacramento writers, directors, actors and crew!
See the 10 10-minute films plus the award's ceremony.
Besides seeing the 10 films, you'll also wee the awards ceremony and hear from all the writers whose scripts were created in one of the most diverse set of stories ever the the competition.

Each year, Access Sacramento sponsors a script writing competition, and the selected scripts are then created in an explosion of local artists who act and work as technicians to create these fantastic films.

Happy holidays everyone! This week we'll be airing our one-hour long holiday special with special guest  

SANTA CLAUS LIVE IN STUDIO. We will also have both regular hosts Ray Tatar and Bonnie Antonini sharing some holiday cheer! 

 

 

The children from Miss Becky's Tiny Tots will be joining Santa to talk about what's important to them during the holidays.

Hometown TV crews have completed editing of two additional programs from this Fall's lineup of productions.

Social Equality Activist Angela Davis in Sacramento on "Media Edge" Sunday 8pm
 
A very special edition of "Media Edge" this Sunday at 8pm on Access Sacramento features Activist Angela Davis speaking during her visit earlier this month to Sacramento's St. Marks United Methodist Church.

Davis, 70, is a retired UC Santa Cruz professor of feminist studies who gained fame in the 1960s as a controversial leader connected to the Black Panther Party and Communist Party USA.

Ms. Davis speaks eloquently about recent events in Ferguson and New York providing inspiration and perspective.

Media Edge provide in-depth thought provoking progressive viewpoints from local and nationally-distributed producers.

Stairway to Stardom 2014 Cablecast Schedule & DVD Purchase

Skip's Music "Stairway to Stardom '14 is headed to TV right after Christmas. The fully mastered songs and interviews from the bands in their first concert performances has been prepared for the TV broadcast.

After months of preparation and practice and rehearsals,  all the bands performed their original songs, live on-stage before an audience of family, friends, peers, and music lovers.
 
See the professional concert-quality production that included concert stage, lights, sound, even roadies, enhanced the experience for all involved.

High School PSA Constest
Presented by Access Sacramento

Access Sacramento is providing a unique opportunity for high school media production classes in Sacramento County.
 
Media Production Students are given an opportunity to create a public service announcement for a local nonprofit or governmental agency. These organizations will then select as many of the PSAs as they like for cablecast on Access Sacramento.
 
Selected PSAs will receive an Award of Excellence certificate from Access Sacramento. Access Sacramento will judge all of those selected and award cash prizes to the top three!
