Access Sacramento's KUBU 96.5 FM Transmitter Installation Begins

This 8' equipment rack soon will host the transmitter for Low-Power KUBU 96.5 FM

With all the pieces now available, Access Sacramento engineer Tim Parish and Radio Coordinator Shane Carpenter have begun the jigsaw puzzle task of putting all the pieces into the equipment rack that will house the transmitter and its controls to start up the downtown broadcast site for Access Sacramento's KUBU 96.5 FM radio station.

The uninterruptible power supply is charging, the safety surge protector in case of lightning is in-line, and the internet connection is installed.

This special keyboard and monitor is designed to fold down and disappear into the equipment rack.
Next will be the computer controls and  the transmitter itself.

Once the the transmitter site is complete, and the matching controls are installed at the Access Sacramento studios in the Coloma Community Center, the station will be ready for initial testing.

Access Sacramento's nearly 50 community radio producers who create original programming will soon be trained in the few added tasks required of live radio broadcasters in anticipation of the upcoming official re-launch of "The Voice of Sacramento County" onto a low-power FM radio station.

Mark your calendar for Thursday, Nov. 13 at 11 a.m. for the ribbon-cutting Launch of KUBU. More information in the weeks ahead.
