Access Sacramento's KUBU 96.5 FM Sets Antenna - Soon to Begin Tests
Contractor P & R Tower yesterday installed the antenna and feed line that will connect the horseshoe shaped antenna to the transmitter at the downtown broadcast site for Access Sacramento's KUBU 96.5 FM radio station. With the antenna mounted now and power-installed for the station last week, Access Sacramento engineer Tim Parish and Radio Coordinator Shane Carpenter are set to install the balance of the necessary equipment to remotely control the transmitter from the studio site in the Coloma Community Center. While Access Sacramento has provided community radio for more than two decades as a cablecast and internet station, this new low-power FM operation marks a new full-time over-the-air outreach. More than 50 Sacramento County members of Access Sacramento provide radio shows each month. Mark your calendar for Thursday, Nov. 13 at 11 a.m. for the ribbon-cutting Launch of KUBU. More information in the weeks ahead.
