Audio Tip & Tricks 

Demo at Sacramento VIPs

The latest in audio from SHURE microphones and audio, plus wireless microphone information.  A demonstration is planned the last Wednesday in June at the Sacramento Video Industry Professonals (VIP's) meeting at 7pm at Studio 50, 3665 Bleckley Street, Mather, CA, off Hwy. 50 east of Bradshaw.

Hear from Alan Thiele from PCM Marketing on innovations in the world of audio.  Get geeky if you want (Dynamic Range, Frequence Response, Pick up Patterns) or go for flash (fishpole booms and mounts), but either way, you won't want to miss this opportunity.

Access Sacramento's holds free  Orientation Sessions twice every month on the 2nd Tuesday and 4th Wednesday at 6pm in Sacramento's  Coloma Community Center.

 

Orientation classes are free and open to the public. They last a little more than an hour. The orientation class is also a required step in becoming an Access Sacramento member and should be taken at your earliest convenience.   

 

The Orientation Class will give you a chance to ask questions and learn about our services and what we provide to the community and its members. We also will go over the standard classes we offer and member benefits as well as providing a tour of the radio and TV studios and digital media lab.   

 

All classes are on a first come, first serve basis so signing up right away is crucial. Mark your calendars for the final listings of the Orientation class!

15th Place Called Sacramento
Film Festival Underway

The 15th Annual "Place Called Sacramento" Film Festival's 10 winning script writers were introduced last Wednesday during the annual
Cast and Crew Call at the Coloma Community Center.

Volunteers listen to the announcement of the 10 winning films before trying to land acting or crew jobs for the summer production schedule.

The names and story descriptions were shared with nearly 250 volunteer actors and crew members, all hoping to convince the writers (turned producers) they were perfect for joining the teams this summer to make the 10 winners' films.

Access Sacramento seeks a Director of Production and Training.

This position is responsible for supervising and training staff and members on the proper use of all Access Sacramento video and audio equipment.  This includes keeping all equipment and resources used to carry out the mission of Access Sacramento in excellent working order. 
The person hired will supervise live and taped studio, field remotes and single-camera shooting and editing.

Applications are due by June 30, and the position is expected to be filled for Aug. 1.

The position became available with the retirement of Access Sacramento veteran Dev Singh.

Menagerie Pop Up Art

We are happy to welcome guests from Managerie, a local artist collective featuring local up and coming and underground artists. You will have to be in the know and visit one of their pop- up art shows to see some of the amazing artwork happening in your community. There are various pop-up shows planned over the next couple of months. The next one is scheduled to happen at District 30 on Wednesday, June 18th at 7pm and other scheduled around town in the coming weeks. Locations vary from clubs to coffee shops, and more and the artists are varied, too. Watch LiveWire! to learn more about Menagerie.

Ms. Bernice Carlton's 100th Birthday Celebration Cablecast Schedule

 

On April 5th, 2014 Ms. Bernice Carlton, the oldest of 21 children, celebrated her 100th birthday at the Hilton Hotel in Sacramento.

 

 

 

Ms. Bernice Carlton started fostering at the age of 19 in 1972 and continued up to her retirement in 2005. During that time she fostered 500 children in the city of Sacramento.

 

She has received a number of awards including the Directors Award from the Department of Social Services, the Regional Service Command Time Award in 1996 and the Sacramento County "For Unselfish Devotion and Distinguished Service" Award in 10/1997.
