Next Orientation Class is Tonight at 6pm
Access Sacramento's next Orientation class is tonight at 6:00 p.m.
Orientation classes are free and open to the public. They last a little over an hour. This orientation class is also a mandatory step in becoming an Access Sacramento member and should be taken at your earliest convenience.
The Orientation Class will give you a chance to ask questions and learn about our services and what we provide to the community and its members. We also will go over the standard classes we offer and member benefits as well as getting a tour of the facility.
Orientations are regularly scheduled on the 2nd Tuesday and 4th Wednesday of every month.
All classes are on a first come, first serve basis so signing up right away is crucial. Mark your calendars for the final listings of the Orientation class!

LIVE TV Audition Awards Two Singers with "Sacramento Has Talent" Offer
With just one month to go before Access Sacramento's 2nd annual benefit talent show "Sacramento Has Talent," two spots were awarded to singers who auditioned Saturday during a live TV performance showcasing some of our area's best undiscovered performers.

Sac Has Talent Open Auditions Generates Social Media Explosion
The open audition for singers for the upcoming Sacramento Has Talent brought not only a huge talent pool of singers from various age groups and musical styles, the event also saw a huge explosion on Twitter by using the hashtag #SacTalent. For Example:

A high powered set of Sacramento filmmakers and television producers gathered at Sacramento's Wizard World Comic Con Saturday to help attendees learn about the variety of opportunities for production available in our region.

Access Sacramento Executive Director Gary Martin told about the "Place Called Sacramento" script writing competition for 10-minute scripts featuring this region, encouraging writers to tell the stories they love and reminding them Access Sacramento has classes and the free use of equipment for those who get certified.

ACCESS SACRAMENTO EMPLOYEE WINS FILM AWARD
Wizard World included a film festival component this year. Local film makers submitted films that showed throughout the film festival. Congratulations to Access Sacramento's Carlos Hernandez, producer of the film "Stolen Homework" who won First Place for the "Best Super Short" in the film festival.
"It was a great experience," said Hernandez. "I was able to meet and get autographs from William Shatner and Stan Lee, as well as have my film show in front of about a thousand people."

Lt. Governor Gavin Newsom Calls for Technology Progress in State Government
In a live webcast and cable television show from Access Sacramento, California Lt. Governor Gavin Newsom today called for a break from the status quo and faster progress on improving the state's technology infrastructure.

In a live broadcast interview on TechLeader.TV, Newsom said California is "still trapped by standard operating procedures; legacy systems left over from the 70s." The Krazy Sac Ladz had an appreciation dinner for their Non-Profit volunteers and those who have helped them succeed. LiveWire! was honored as one of the organizations and we are so happy to have been part of it.
Felicia Armstrong is the CEO & President of this wonderful local Non-profit organization that helps kids in need in the Sacramento region. The Organization grew out of need she saw with children in her neighborhood for school supplies, lunches, and more and now serves over thousands of children in Sacramento each year. Congratulations to the Access Sacramento and LiveWire! Hosts and Crew for their endeavors to help NPO's get the word out.

"Be Caring & Courageous"

Our guest on LiveWire this week is Dee DiGioglio from Caring and Courageous Kids. Dee is a presenter, coach and anti-bullying advocate. She has an anti-bullying program for children that she shares at local schools and children's events. She is reaching out to touch hearts and change people for the better. Dee will be on the program to tell us about her mission and how you can get help stopping a bully or learn how to not be one and the learning the strength of compassion.

Call For Scripts in 15th Annual
"A Place Called Sacramento"
Screenplay writers are called to enter the 15th annual script competition in Access Sacramento's 15th Annual "A Place Called Sacramento" Film Festival.

A special Screenwriting class started last Saturday at Access Sacramento, helping these aspiring writers polish their skills in preparation for the April 11 script submission deadline.

Professional, amateur, experienced and beginning writers are encouraged to tell a 10-minute story with the promise of having winning scripts produced and appearing on the Festival big screen.
Each 10-minute screenplay is required to feature the Sacramento region and to be producible with the help of equipment and support of Access Sacramento.
Ten scripts will be selected as the best in the competition, with each being produced over the summer for a world premiere showing on Sunday, Oct. 5, 2014 at The Crest Theatre, with additional viewings on Access Sacramento's cable channels and Internet distribution.
Scripts are due Friday, April 11 at 5:00 p.m. and may be turned in as either a printed document or as an on-line submission. The submission website will be available on Feb. 20. A $20 fee is charged for entry.
The "A Place Called Sacramento" film festival offers a volunteer cast and crew call on Wednesday, May 28 for actors and technical crew to offer the newly selected writers turned producers their help in creating their films.

The movies shown at the Brainwash Movie Festival are a great mix of original humor, experimental art movies, innovative animation, and short live-action stories and features with high production values. The movie-makers are unique and skillful storytellers, and the movies themselves pack a real punch into anywhere from 5 to 18 to 100 minutes.

CFAA March 18th Meeting: Field Trip to Access Sacramento
Capital Film Arts Alliance Members are invited to join us at Access Sacramento on Tuesday, March 18th at 7pm for a creative Field Trip. This creative field trip will let you in on how you can share your stories and programs on Access Sacramento TV. The meeting will be held in the Gold Run room inside the Coloma Community Center. We will get to ask questions to Access Sacramento Executive Director, Gary Martin along with Office Manager & Producer, Michelle Barbaria. They will also be giving you a tour of the facility. We hope to see you there!
