The board's nominations committee reviewed the applications and upon its recommendation, three Sacramento residents were named: Ester Gordillo, Roberto Sarabia, and Simone Vianna.
The appointees join the board on one-year terms of office. Six of the 12 board members are elected by the Access Sacramento membership annually each June in rotating years. The final three seats on the board are appointed only.
Ester Gordillo is an international trade specialist working with the Northern California-Sacramento Regional Center for International Trade Development as part of the Los Rios Community College District. Simone Vianna is a fashion designer who also works in public relations and marketing. She is an Access Sacramento radio producer for "The Voice" and has contributed to Sacramento Fashion Week and volunteered for Alternatives Pregnancy Center.
Board Chair JoAnn Fuller expressed the board's delight in welcoming the new board member at the regular board meeting last Thursday, and encouraged the members to immediately take seats and begin their participation.
The new members will receive an orientation session to board work soon by Executive Director Gary Martin. The new appointees' term of office is through June, 2014.

Video Highlights: Rio Linda Football pushes past Christian Brothers in Game of the Week
 | Rio Linda Marcel Brown in the endzone after one of four TD carries. |
Four second-half touchdowns by Rio Linda's Marcel Brown pushed the Knights to a 40-13 victory over the Christian Brothers Falcons Friday night in Access Sacramento's Game of the Week.
Access Sacramento's Will James and Jim Dimino narrate video highlights. See the video here: Game of the Week.
Rio Linda pounded up the field, rushing for 338 yards on 57 carries overall, but it was six-foot senior fullback Brown who picked up nearly half that total earning 166 yards on 23 carries himself.
Brown had four second-half TD's on runs of three, nine, 24 and 37 yards to earn the points.
Rio Linda's defense though held tough all game though, picking up three interceptions and forcing short punts to provide Knights' quarterback Stephen Andrews great field position all game.
In five out of six scoring drives, the Knights took less than two-minutes to pick up the TD.
Most of Christian Brothers offense came in the passing game, as Coach Greg Petrissans' Falcons all-game hurry-up offense meant they worked to have only four-seconds between plays.
Junior 6-3 195-pound quarterback Chris Guillen then had his work cut out, completing 16 of 30 passes for 101 yards. Eight of the passes were completed to Sean Olson for 43 yards.
 | Christian Brothers Quarterback Stephen Andrews completed 57% of his passes picking up 173 yards. |
The Touchdown passes went to Erik Boomquist
for 14 yards with just three-seconds left in the half, allowing Christian Brothers to close to within seven points, 13-6 at the half. For more on the game go to AccessLocal.tv.

Friday Football LIVE - Falcons, Cougars Meet at Crossroads

By Will James
Access Sacramento
Home Town Sports Game of the Week
The Falcons, along with theRio Linda Knights and Casa Roble Rams, are the three teams picked as pre-season co-favorites to dethrone Del Campo, which has dominated the CVC for the past decade, winning the league title three of the past four years, and six of the past ten.
More details on this game can be found at our news blog site AccessLocal.tv
This forecast is based on the perceived strength of these three challengers, and the massive rebuilding project facing Cougars' coach, Mike Dimino, who entered the season with the daunting task of replacing 19 starters lost to graduation.
George Petrissans' rapid-fire Falcons are sparked by the dual pass/run threat of Junior QB Chris Guillen, while RB Mason Stahley and big-play receivers Hayden Jones and Brandon Thompson continue to highlight the offense. LB's Logan Snyderand Jon Wagstaff, and DB Ryan Graggs anchor the defense.
Mike Dimino's Cougars rely on running backs Austin Brown and Javone Jackson to fuel the offense. LB Sam Webster and DB Roberto Pardo are Del Campo's leading tacklers who solidify the defense.
Access Sacramento's Game of the Week can be seen Friday's at 7pm on Comcast/SureWest Cable Ch. 17, and AT&T U-Verse Channel 99. The game is live streamed on the web from AccessSacramento.org
