Support Access Sacramento's
Place Called Sacramento Film Festival
All the work by 10 film teams pays off Oct. 6 at 1pm at The Crest Theatre when the 14th annual " Place Called Sacramento" premieres family friendly films with stories and locations exclusively about Sacramento.
Tickets are available from Tickets.com for only $10. Tickets are also available from The Crest box office.
All volunteer cast, crews and mostly novice film writers and directors are featured in fantastic explorations into the life and times of stories surrounding Sacramento.
Screenwriter Joyce Glover's story "Running into Traffic" is a character study about a young woman named Cynthia whose encounter with a sly and alluring man brings dramatic changes when she learns her family secrets.
.
Glover, who has taken filmmaking classes from both Cosumnes River College and American River College, was delighted when her script was selected nearly five months ago. Since then, her team had to find the cast, shooting locations, get permits, and ultimately had to shoot and edit the finished film that was turned in last week at Access Sacramento.
Having "Running Into Traffic" on the big screen isn't unique for the filmmaker. She also had a script selected in 2004 when her story "A Mile in her Shoes" was also produced.
To see all 10 movies and learn the stories of the other filmmakers, support local filmmaking and the 14th Annual "Place Called Sacramento" Film Festival by purchasing tickets at Tickets.com or at The Crest Box office.

Access Sacramento, Game-of-the-Week
Gridiron fireworks will definitely be in abundance Friday evening when Access Sacramento's Home Town Sports Game-of-the-Week places the spotlight on a highly combustible heavyweight match-up in Natomas, where the #7 Inderkum Tigers brace for a prodigious invasion by the Rocklin Thunder.
This will be just the second encounter between two of the most successful football programs in the region, which consistently contend for league and section championships. Last season's first-ever meeting between the two schools was an explosive, action-packed contest won by Rocklin, 31-22.
 |
Rocklin Thunder Head Coach Greg Benzel
|
Greg Benzel's Thunder have steadied after a shaky start and enter play with a 2-2 mark. Terry Stark's Tigers defend their home turf with a 3-1 record, in a contest laden with star power and super speed. Anticipate this one to be outstanding . . . and then some.

Tune in Friday at 7pm on Access Sacramento, Comcast and SureWest Cable channel 17 or AT&T U-Verse Channel 99.
