 Smart Solutions' Community Update
Affordable Housing Week in Santa Cruz County kicked off on October 13 and Smart Solutions provided an 'All In Community Update' at Calvary Episcopal Church which was widely attended.

Rayne Marr spoke on the upcoming changes and challenges of hosting and providing a winter shelter. Jenny Panetta filled us in on the All In Landlord Partnership which is creating incentives for landlords to take housing vouchers in creative ways. Sibley Simon shared how his housing project, New Way Homes, is obtaining funding in a new and innovative way. Other speakers included Phil Kramer of Homeless Services Center, Ryan Hoffman of Veterans Resource Center, and John Dietz of 180/2020 who gave us updates on their programs and how they are meeting goals laid out in the All In Strategic Plan.

During the event audience members were able to ask questions, voice their opinions, and share ideas which lead to the conclusion that we need more ways for both housed and unhoused community members to connect (see below for an opportunity).

Thank your to our speakers, organizers and the approximately 80 people that engaged with us that night!
