Cam's Gear-Up Getaway is headed for high ground! He will be camping in the Pine Mt area, cool weather clear skies!
Howard's Dual Sport Mark Stickelmaier has volunteered to substitute for Howard - should be a great ride!
Don Hobson's Street Ride is headed north for a 250 mile loop.

"EarthRider" is dedicated to facilitating dual sport/ adventure riders in enriching their riding experiences and enhancing their riding skills. Don't know where to ride? Don't have time to plan a ride? Aren't quite sure how to ride? Don't know anybody to ride with? Come riding with us! The
adventure you join us for might last hours, or it might last days.
Either way, you will always have opportunities to practice riding skills you know, learn one that you don't, meet old friends, and make new ones."

| Greetings! | 
Looking forward, looking back...
BMWVC opened its doors in January of 2005 with an eager group of talented individuals ready and excited at the prospect. Howard and Kyle were there that first day and are still as talented and excited that seven years later BMWVC has prospered and grown. That was a great first year and saw many interesting changes and additions as the fledgling shop grew and one of those interesting additions was George Cross as Sales Manager. George fitted into that yearling team that ran like a well-oiled machine and over the ensuing seven years has been instrumental to our success and progress. He built an impressive catalog of satisfied customers and came to be known as a knowledgeable and friendly face here in the shop. For those of you who know him, George often takes some time in the month of September to see family on extended visits and this year is no exception - with a slight change. George has decided to semi-retire and devote some time to riding and enjoying family and friends long-term. He promises to visit often and we hope to see him soon and hear his new stories. Meantime, please join with us here at the shop, old friends and new, as we wish him many blessings and fair weather wherever he rides. Best of luck George!
BMWVC is proud to announce that Bob Archer has been moved into the position of Sales Manager. Lyle Colton will be joining the sales team as Internet Sales Manager/Sales Consultant. The Parts Department will welcome a new Parts Manager who will be joining our team on October 2nd. Meanwhile Sagen, Cameron, Lyle and I will be doing our best to keep the parts department running smoothly during this transition.
Our ride calendar this month is moving along with Howard's Dual Sport Ride, led by Mark Stickelmaier this month and Don's Street Ride still to come. Keep checking the calendar or Facebook for more rides and events.
World Superbike Fans keep celebrating as BMW gets the top spot on the podium and now holds the number one position in the points race! The S1000RR is a force to be reckoned with and now BMW announces the HP4! Read more in this issue.

If you did not think the BMW S1000RR was fast enough, light enough or had enough technology hidden beneath its skin you're in luck!
BMW unveiled the first ever HP4 model adding to its already impressive list of special HP models. BMW uses the HP designation to introduce cutting edge technology and all out performance designs and the HP4 is no exception. Being released in limited quantity and in two versions, the S1000RR HP4 has been put on a diet loosing 14 pounds! It boasts the first ever standard active, electrically-actuated Dynamic Damping Control, and a torque-adjusting Launch Control system, yes launch control! Forged wheels, a 200 rear tire, full titanium street legal exhaust system, this bike is ready for the track if you are. BMW is planning to produce only 2500 units worldwide, with 500 of those being "Competition" versions, with sponsor stickers and bunches of carbon fibre. Looking for more details? BMW Motorrad this week announced pricing for the New MaxiScooters with the C600 Sport has a base price of $9,590. At this price the C600 will have as standard equipment:
- ABS
- CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) with automatic centrifugal clutch
- Flex Case Variable Storage Compartment
- Illuminated Storage Compartment
- Side Stand with Automatic Parking Brake Actuator
- Power Socket
- Multifunction Display with On Board Computer
- Toolkit
- Center Stand
- Adjustable Windshield

The C650 GT has a base price of $9,990 and adds a Stepless Power Adjustable Windshield with Wind Guide Vanes to the standard equipment listed above.
Step up to the Highline Package on either model for another $605 and get Heated Grips, a Heated Seat and Tire Pressure Monitoring as well.
The C600 Sport will be available in:

Support Team USA and the GS Trophy Challenge

Join RawHyde Adventures on the weekend of September 21st for an awesome weekend of GS fun and excitement in Moab, Utah as the Adventure Rider Challenge and GS Trophy Challenge get under way!
 I attended this event last year and there is some amazing riding, with amazing views, and of course Rawhyde knows how to host an event like very few others do. Moab is situated in one of Americas most spectacular settings... the red sandstone playground of Arches and Canyon land National Parks This rugged area is home to an incredibly wide variety of the most scenic and fun backcountry trails you'll find in North America. Participation in the GS trophy could also earn you a spot on Team USA and an all-expenses paid trip to South America for the adventure of a lifetime. If you are not into "competition" there is lots of other fun stuff to do... There are 15 designated rides that range from easy to super challenging. There is something for everyone - guaranteed! | September 2012 Photo Contest | 
The rules are simple.
It must have a BMW motorcycle in it, it must be a picture you took and have the legal right to publish and it must be in good taste. One entry per person and the previous month's winner is not eligible. Sorry but we have to keep it fair.
By submitting a picture you are giving BMW Motorcycles of Ventura County permission to publish it on our website, Facebook page and newsletter free of any payment, except for the winner which will be entitled to the BMWVC Hat and $50 Gift Card!
