Truly Living Well is looking for quality, enthusiastic, garden educators.  We are seeking candidates with a background in education (K-6) and gardening. We are currently hiring for 2 programs. The hours for one of them is Mon-Fri 12:00pm-5:00pm (candidates must pass background check for this position). The hours for the other program is Mon, Tues and Wed 5:30pm-6:30pm.

Our first 12-week Soul to Soil program is almost coming to a close. This past May we introduced the program as a collaboration with the Frazer Center's Adult Program, a place where adults with developmental disabilities gather together to learn and to flourish with the ultimate goal of full integration into the broader community.

Sessions begin in the classroom with TLW urban farmer Khalifa Lee teaching the participants about urban agricultural topics such as composting and soil testing. Then participants spend time weeding, mulching, and watering plants at our East Point farm.

Kortney Chitman, the Frazer Center's Community Access Specialist, coaches the participants during each session with the support of TLW staff members. He said, "It has been a great experience starting off. For the first time working with each other, it went well. I'm looking forward to doing it again. It was a major learning experience!"

"I found that those who don't converse as usual are more physical and, therefore, are capable of doing more work than those who can have regular conversations with you. The nonverbal individuals I've seen can follow instructions after one or two times."

This social enterprise has provided individuals with disabilities the tools and skills to independently work in urban agricultural-related fields. Participants developed relationships with their peers and
