The destructive quest for perfection is something that I am very passionate about on a personal and professional level. Healthy relationships with our body image are challenged by cultural images and the influence of family and peers. The media machine is driven by the billions of pounds spent every year on cosmetics, clothes and diets and this beautifying empire is dependent on our total disempowerment. The images are relentless, they fuel devastation to self esteem,  body hatred and wellbeing.

I work with so many young women who suffer from the psychological and physical damages that this pursuit of the 'perfect' body brings. Working with these young women in the outdoors is a wonderful way to explore body image through gentle and kind activities that promote realisation of the fact that prevalent media images do not value our uniqueness, they do not honour our wisdom and our spirit, and they do not measure us.

If we can reclaim and redefine our bodies as ours and know that they perform wonderful feats every day then a more healthy relationship develops where our bodies are not our enemies - they are the wondrous things that put us in motion, that create and sustain life.

Young women are the next generation to teach their sons and daughters and they have an amazing opportunity to pass on to them the skills to love and celebrate their unique bodies through positive choices...what a beautiful and empowered world that would be!

For those born in the month of June your life experiences may centre round self-control and planning towards goals.  Living for the moment is a lovely feeling but for those born in June it may not bring the rewards craved for.  June births have a lot of potential if only they would focus on their goals.  Using imagination and vision they can attain 'their pot of gold'. 

This month's energy affecting us all is one of change and opportunity.  To achieve your goals be kind and generous to all and inch your way forward.  To achieve the most from this month's energy co-operate with everyone and give support where it is needed.  Be careful of giving too much of yourself to others problems.  You may find yourself having to say 'no' to friends and family; else you'll end up achieving nothing.  Be balanced in all your dealings.
