| Greetings!
My husband asked me on New Year's Eve what the passing of a year meant to me. The question, while perfectly logical, took me by surprise because I didn't have a ready answer. I asked if I could sleep on it. The next morning, the answer came to me: One year slipping into another offers to me a moment to reflect and to honor what is passing. It also opens up to me new opportunities. Most of all, though, I told him, it reminds me that every day marks the beginning of a new year. Each day, we begin again if we are anchored in the present moment, the present breath. In this way, every day is New Year's Day. I love that feeling and sense of potential.
Personal growth and wellness benefits not also one person but also entire families, friendship circles, and business settings. One person at a time, deepening his or or her understanding and awareness, affects all of us.
January at Green Lotus offers profound and personal ways to open up to new possibilities, different perspectives, and sheer fun. Whether you are an athlete, a singer, curious about homeopathy, or wanting to know introduce yoga poses to your students, this month has something for everyone. We can't wait to see you!
Light and laughter,
Marcia, MB, Candy, and Christie |

Kirtan First Friday!
Mendota: Friday, January 4, 7 - 8:30 p.m.
Kirtan is a different type of music. Based on ancient Sanskrit chants, it has the ability to quiet the mind if approached with intention. It is usually performed in a call-and-response style: the kirtan leader sings a Sanskrit chant, and the audience sings it back. Everyone can participate, kids love kirtan, you don't need a great singing voice, and you don't need to know Sanskrit or yoga to enjoy yourself. You can feel free to participate in any way that makes your heart happy: sing, listen, dance, jump around, meditate, or clap your hands. Join Dr. Alane Lucht, Green Lotus yoga teacher and chiroprator, and her kirtan band for some singing and fun. Green Lotus will now be hosting kirtan every first Friday of the month. A donation of $5 - $15 is suggested. |
