For the past 30 years we have run annual day-long "Humor Seminars for Human Services Professionals" as fundraisers for scholarships that keep the best & brightest students in our community. Now, we believe we can do a better job of raising needed funds by delivering cutting-edge professional education in a more modern format --the iMeetUp-- that will be just as enjoyable as ever. We'll do it a few times each year.
You and your colleagues are invited to join us in this briefer, more targeted format to enhance your skills by illuminating the human condition through live, experiential activities as well as interviews and discussions with experts who may be anywhere in the world. Some parts will be recorded and available later online, but the in-person experience will foster valuable networking and exposure to wonderful community resources.
The theme will be Optimal Mental Health, otherwise known in the research literature as FLOURISHING!*

*FLOURISHING: a state of optimal mental health. People who flourish not only feel good but also do good; they experience positive emotions regularly; excel in their daily lives, and contribute to the world around them in constructive ways that benefit the individual and society, including fewer workdays lost, fewer limitations in daily activities, and lower health care utilization.

Award-winning psychologist, Steve Wilson, is the founding Chairperson of the Mental Health Technology at Columbus State Community College. In 1983, his students created the scholarship fund in his name. Known as The Joyologist and Cheerman of the Bored, he is an internationally recognized authority on applied and therapeutic humor, with a humanitarian mission. As Director of National Humor Month, he intertwines science and ancient wisdom with substance and humor to lead the world to health, happiness and peace through laughter. More than six thousand people have completed his unique training in how to create therapeutic laughter, and tens of thousands more around the world have been uplifted by his talks, classes, Webinars, books, and articles. He established the World Laughter Tour in 1998, to be a resource, clearinghouse, and inspiration for improving productivity, health, and well being in business, healthcare and education.
