Funny Friday...Friday Laugh...
A little humor to end the week
March 8, 2013
Giving LIFE at Dodge Park
If you've ever visited Dodge Park Rest Home community, you may have encountered one of our many entertainers. They are often the highlight of our week, very often few times a week. It is amazing to see our residents, especially those who would normally feel too shy to even sit in the main dining room, getting up and dancing in front of our entire community. Whether we hear it on the overhead speakers or played live by our resident piano player, we love to hear tunes playing. Music is the universal love here and you can't help but dance or sing along when it's playing.
Of course we enjoy the entertainers that come in to visit, but we also have our own entertainer right here at Dodge Park Rest Home. You would be amazed at how when certain songs are being played or sung; we have residents that never talk, but will sing along to every word.
You might have even heard that one of our visiting singers sounds just like Frank Sinatra, or Elvis. They sings an array of songs and has the ladies swooning over them. They have ma great voice on their own but always has quite a few back up singers, especially our resident Bruce who always knows every song.

| 68 and pregnent! | |
A woman went to the emergency room, where she was seen by a young new doctor. After about 3 minutes in the examination room, the doctor told her she was pregnant. She burst out of the room and ran down the corridor screaming.
An older doctor stopped her and asked what the problem was. After listening to her story, he calmed her down and sat her in another room. Then, the doctor marched down the hallway to the first doctor's room.
"What the world is wrong with you?" he demanded. "This woman is 68 years old, she has two grown children and several grandchildren, and you told her she was pregnant?!!"
The new doctor continued to write on his clipboard and without looking up and said, . . . "Does she still have the hiccups?"
| Nothing but the truth... | |
A farmer whose mule was killed in an auto accident sued the driver of the car, citing the farmer's own injuries. The driver's lawyer cross-examined him on the witness stand. "Now, Farmer Smith, did you or did you not tell the first officer responding to the scene that you were fine?"
"Well, let me explain-"
"Yes or no, Farmer Smith, please."
"Well, yes."
"Then clearly any injuries you suffered could not be the result of the accident?"
"Let me tell you what happened," the farmer said. "My mule was pulling the wagon when this car came out of nowhere and hit us. I was thrown clear, and before I knew anything the police car was there. My poor mule was dying, and the cop took out his gun and put him out of his misery.
"Then he looked at me and asked, 'Are you OK?' What would you have said?"
| New life order | |
In my next life I want to live my life backwards.
You start out dead and get that out of the way.
Then you wake up in an old people's home feeling better every day.
You get kicked out for being too healthy, go collect your pension, and then when you start work, you get a gold watch and a party on your first day.
You work for 40 years until you're young enough to enjoy your retirement.
You party, drink alcohol, and are generally promiscuous, then you are ready for high school.
You then go to primary school, you become a kid, you play.
You have no responsibilities, you become a baby until you are born.
And then you spend your last 9 months floating in luxurious spa-like conditions with central heating and room service on tap, larger quarters every day.

| Gun control ??? | |
Two guys meet up in a bar. The first one asks, "Did your hear the news - Mike is dead??!!!" "Woah, what the hell happened to him?" "Well he was on his way over to my house the other day and when he arrived outside the house he didn't brake properly and boom - He hit the curb, the car flipped over and he crashed through the sunroof - Went flying through the air and smashed through my upstairs bedroom window."
"What a horrible way to die!" "No no, he survived that, that didn't kill him at all. So, he's landed in my upstairs bedroom and he's all covered in broken glass on the floor. Then, he spots the big old antique wardrobe we have in the room and reaches up for the handle to try to pull himself up. He's just dragging himself up when bang, this massive wardrobe comes crashing down on top of him, crushing him and breaking most of his bones." "What a way to go, that's terrible!" "No no, that didn't kill him he survived that. He managed to get the wardrobe off him and crawls out onto the landing, he tries to pull himself up on the banister but under his weight, the banister breaks and he goes falling down on to the first floor. In mid air, all the broken banister poles spin and fall on him, pinning him to the floor, sticking right through him." "Now that is the most unfortunate way to go!" "No no, that didn't kill him, he even survived that. So he's on the downstairs landing, just beside the kitchen. He crawls in to the kitchen, tries to pull himself up on the stove, but reached for a big pot of boiling hot water, whoosh, the whole thing came down on him and burned most of his skin off him." "Man, what a way to go!" "No no, he survived that, he survived that! He's lying on the ground, covered in boiling water and he spots the phone and tries to pull himself up, to call for help, but instead he grabs the light switch and pulls the whole thing off the wall and the water and electricity didn't mix and so he got electrocuted, wallop, 10,000 volts shot through him." "Now that is one awful way to go!"
"No no, he survived that..." "Hold on now, just how the hell did he die?" "I shot him!" "You shot him? What the hell did you shoot him for?"
"He was wrecking my house."

| Thank you | A married couple was in a terrible accident where the woman's face was severely burned. The doctor told the husband that they couldn't graft any skin from her body because she was too skinny. So the husband offered to donate some of his own skin. However, the only skin on his body that the doctor felt was suitable would have to come from his buttocks. The husband and wife agreed that they would tell no one about where the skin came from, and requested that the doctor also honor their secret. After all, this was a very delicate matter. After the surgery was completed, everyone was astounded at the woman's new beauty. She looked more beautiful than she ever had before! All her friends and relatives just went on and on about her youthful beauty! One day, she was alone with her husband, and she was overcome with emotion at his sacrifice. She said, "Dear, I just want to thank you for everything you did for me. How can I possibly repay you?" "My darling," he replied, "I get all the thanks I need every time I see your mother kiss you on the cheek." | |
