NE Ohio Values Voters supports school choice because parents (not the federal government) are responsible for the education of children. 

Parents across the nation and in Ohio are waking up to a new danger to students from the Federal government that you may have already heard about. 'Federal Common Core Education Standards' have crept into our local school systems. The standards are extremely alarming (even pornographic) in public schools but they also affect the education and testing of children in private and home-schools.   Here is just one analysis posted on the American Association of Christian Schools website:  Click Here

Just like 'ObamaCare' you have to 'read it" to find out 'what's in it.' 

Conservative education scholars and concerned parents and citizens have been working diligently to read and understand the standards and some states have already passed legislation to opt out of 'Common Core' standards.  

In Ohio, state representatives have begun work on legislation that will reject these outrageous standards for Ohio students.

This weekend I returned from the annual Values Voters Conference in Washington D.C. where leaders gained knowledge about issues, elected officials, and candidates that are most important to values voters.  A straw poll was conducted that revealed "Religious Liberty" as the top concern of leaders who attended the conference.  NE Ohio Values Voters will make 'Religious Liberty' a top priority in our work to educate and communicate with values voters and elected officials in NE Ohio.

Also, here are the top five finishers in the #VVS2013 presidential straw poll:

Senator Ted Cruz - 42%
Dr. Ben Carson - 13%
Senator Rick Santorum - 13%
Senator Rand Paul - 6%
Senator Marco Rubio - 5%
